We had a bee-autiful time at Rabbit Ings Honey on Friday afternoon. Some of our children helped to set up our Meadstead Hive and move a swarm of bees into their new home. We learnt about the different frames in the hive, the smokers and how the bees work together to make honey. It was a fantastic experience and thoroughly enjoyed by all! 🐝🐝🐝 Head on down and see if you can spot our very own Meadstead Hive

Y4 ditched the desks for the dirt to master some serious life skills! Our children went full-on survivalist in our Forest School, learning to spark fires from scratch and prepare fresh fish. It’s messy, it’s smoky, and it’s way more exciting than a spelling test.

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌟
Today we are proud to celebrate the incredible girls in our school and the power of equal opportunities for everyone.
We are especially delighted to share our Equal Access Award for Sports 2025, recognising our commitment to making sure that all pupils, girls and boys alike, have the chance to participate, compete, and thrive in sport.
At our school, we believe that confidence, teamwork, and leadership start early, and we are committed to supporting every child to discover what they can achieve.
Here’s to strong, confident girls today and every day.

This week we are celebrating British Science Week in school! The children will be exploring exciting experiments, asking big questions, and discovering how science helps us understand the world around us. From investigating materials to exploring nature, we’re encouraging curiosity, creativity and lots of “WOW!” moments.
We’d love families to keep the science going at home too! Here are a few great places where you can find simple activities and ideas to try together:
🧪 British Science Week – activity packs and challenges for children of all ages
🔍 Science Sparks – easy home experiments using everyday materials
🌍 BBC Bitesize – fun science videos, quizzes and learning games
🧠 STEM Learning – family-friendly science investigations and resources
Why not try a mini experiment at home, explore nature on a walk, or ask your child to explain something new they’ve learned this week?
We’d love to see what you get up to! Feel free to share photos of your home science activities in the comments.

World Book Day 2026
Today we celebrated our love of reading by taking part in the Great Book Swap, giving our books a new home and discovering some new stories to enjoy. We also had a wonderful visit to the care home where we shared books with the residents – it was lovely to spend time reading together and sharing our favourite stories across generations.
A big thank you to Mrs Greenwood for helping organise such a special day and for always encouraging a love of reading.

Get Ready for World Book Day!
World Book Day is happening on Thursday, March 5th, and we can’t wait to celebrate! We invite all students to come to school dressed as their favourite book character for the day. If for whatever reason your child does not feel comfortable dressing up, this is also fine. Reading is the key theme of the day and swapping books to enjoy.
To make the day even more special, we are hosting the ‘Meadstead Big Book Swap.’ If your child has a book at home they have enjoyed but are happy to part with, please send it into school. Our goal is for every child to head home with a new-to-them book to enjoy!
