You may remember that, a couple of months ago, Year 5 children wrote to the Prime Minister to express their dissatisfaction at the proposal to decrease the six week summer holiday to three weeks. Today we received a reply. Safe to say, the children are all very relieved that their summer holidays are safe!

Compass Be Parent Support Programme: Fear-Less Triple P
We are pleased to share that the Fear-Less Triple P programme will be running again soon, delivered by family practitioner Lisa.
This online group programme is designed for parents and carers of children experiencing anxiety. It consists of 6 sessions and is expected to run around September/October.
Parents register in their own name and before starting, will be offered a brief telephone assessment to ensure the programme is right for you.
Places are limited, so we encourage interested families to register as soon as possible.
If you feel this may support you and your child, please get in touch for more information or to express interest by scanning the QR Code.
What a fantastic day we have had at Kexborough Primary School!
A huge thank you to all of the parents, carers, family members and friends who came along to support our Sports Days today. Your encouragement and enthusiasm helped make the day such a special celebration for all of the children.
Whilst there were some brilliant sporting performances on display, what stood out most was the incredible team spirit shown by everyone. It was wonderful to see children cheering each other on regardless of team colour, race position or result. The support, kindness and encouragement shown throughout the day truly reflects how amazing our children are.
We were also incredibly proud to see such resilience and perseverance from all of the children β whether that meant overcoming nerves about taking part, getting back up after a fall or simply stepping onto the field and giving it a go. Every single child should feel spectacularly proud of themselves today.
What a wonderful way to end the half term together. We wish all of our families a lovely and restful Spring Bank Break!

On Friday our Year 6 children enjoyed a wonderful day at Cawthorne Park, spending time playing on the fields, enjoying a picnic and making the most of the beautiful outdoors.
It was lovely to see the children simply enjoying being outside and being children. As always, they were a real credit to our school, we received many lovely comments from members of the public about how polite and well-mannered our children are.
Well done Year 6 β and the celebrations are only just beginning!

A huge WELL DONE to all of our children who completed their SATs this week. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you β not just for your hard work, determination and resilience during SATs week, but for the effort, kindness and positivity you show every single week throughout the year. π
Today we celebrated the end of SATs with a well-deserved McDonaldβs treat ππ and lots of smiles and laughter!
You should all be so proud of yourselves β we certainly are! π
We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor.

Last week the children of Year 5 had this press release shared with them. To say that their opposition to the proposal was strong slightly understates their reaction. To demonstrate how strongly that they felt this proposal should be dismissed, they have written letters to Keir Starmer. (These will be posted on the blog later).
Today, two representatives from the class went to the Post Office to send the letters to the Prime Minister. Debbie invited the children behind the counter to ensure that this very important package was shipped correctly.
We will keep everyone updated as to whether we receive a response.
