🎬 Lights, camera, industry experience!

Our Higher Education Media students have been putting their creativity into action through a live client project with Light Cinema Sheffield .

Working to a real brief, they produced promotional videos, social media content, photography and posters before seeing their work showcased on the big screen at the cinema.

Projects like this give our students valuable hands-on experience, helping them build the skills, confidence and professional relationships needed for a career in the creative industries.

🏆 Double champions! 🏆

Congratulations to our Barnsley Griffins esports teams, who won both the Valorant and Overwatch tournaments in a recent charity esports event.

Competing against teams from Oldham College and Nexus Academy, our students remained unbeaten throughout both competitions, securing victory without losing a single match.

The event also raised more than £150 for Cancer Research UK through a charity livestream, making it a fantastic day of competition, teamwork and fundraising.

Well done to everyone involved for representing Barnsley College University Centre so brilliantly and supporting such an important cause.

Year 5 pupils from Worsborough Common Primary School enjoyed an exciting Taster Day at Barnsley College University Centre.

From hands-on sessions in Public Services and Childcare to a fun “Letter Hunt” around campus, pupils explored how their learning links to real careers. The day finished with a visit to our immersive classroom, where they stepped aboard the International Space Station.

A brilliant introduction to future pathways and what learning at BCUC is all about.

Our Esports students have been working with NEXUS in Barnsley to deliver inclusive esports sessions for young people with SEND.

From running lunchtime clubs to exploring careers in esports, our students are helping learners build confidence, develop communication skills and discover new opportunities.

At the same time, they are gaining valuable real-world experience to support their future careers in teaching, coaching and the digital sector.
