📚✨ Year 2’s First Visit to the Library! ✨📚

What a lovely first visit to the library for our Year 2 children! 💚

The children were so excited to explore the library, have a look at all the wonderful books and, of course, choose a book to take back to school and enjoy. 📖😊

There was lots of enthusiasm as they browsed the shelves and carefully made their choices. It was fantastic to see so many excited little readers! 🌟

We can’t wait for many more library visits and lots more opportunities to discover new stories, characters and adventures. 📚❤️

💚 Friends of Wellgate – our first meet up! 💚

A huge thank you to Brody and Indie’s mum, who was our one and only parent representative at our Friends of Wellgate meet up! 🌿 We really appreciate you giving up your time to come along, share ideas and help us think about how we can make a difference for our children and our school.

We were also delighted to be joined by two members of Green Space, who spotted our post on Facebook and decided to come along and find out more. Thank you! 💚

We may have been a small group this time, but there were some brilliant conversations, lots of ideas and plenty of enthusiasm around the table.

We’d really love to grow our Friends of Wellgate group. You don’t have to commit to lots of meetings or give up hours of your time. Whether you can help at an event, share an idea, support some fundraising or simply come along for a chat, we’d love to have you involved.

🌱 Small beginnings can grow into something brilliant.

🐾🌳 GRUFFALO WEEK IN NURSERY! 🌳🐾

What a fantastic Gruffalo Week we have had in Nursery! 📚✨

We have been exploring the wonderful world of The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child and Gruffalo’s Granny developing our imagination, language and storytelling skills along the way.

🌲 A trip to the Wild Wood! 🌲
We ventured into the woods and discovered some very special Gruffalo characters hiding amongst the trees! We explored the Wild Wood, looked carefully at our surroundings and enjoyed lots of opportunities for imaginative play and adventure.

⛺📖 We even settled down inside the teepee tent to listen to Gruffalo’s Granny, making the story come alive as we talked about the characters and what might happen next.

Back at Nursery, the Gruffalo fun continued! 🐾
🎨 We have enjoyed reading The Gruffalo together.
🧡 We made our very own Gruffalos using playdough.
🥣 We worked together to make Gruffalo Granny’s stew, talking about the ingredients and using our imaginations as we created our very own recipe!

We have loved seeing the children become confident storytellers, using new vocabulary and joining in with familiar parts of the stories. 📚💬

Why not ask your child to tell you all about The Gruffalo? 🐭🐍🦉🦊🐲
Can they remember the characters? What happened in the story? What does the Gruffalo look like? What would they put in Gruffalo Granny’s stew? 🥣

We wonder how much of the story they can retell at home! 🐾❤️

🌈 Nursery Settling In 🌈

What a fantastic couple of weeks we have had in Nursery! 💛

The children have been settling into their new routines beautifully and have been busy exploring our provision, discovering new activities and becoming familiar with their new surroundings. It has been wonderful to see their confidence growing as they begin to feel happy, safe and secure within the setting.

We have also seen some lovely friendships beginning to develop. The children have been playing alongside one another, sharing resources, taking turns and beginning to learn how to play and work together. 🥰

📚 Last week, we explored The Colour Monster and talked about different feelings and emotions. The children enjoyed talking about how they were feeling and exploring the different colours linked to our emotions. 🌈💛💙💚

🌳 This week, we are very excited to begin exploring the wonderful story of The Gruffalo! We will be heading into our provision to bring the story to life through imaginative play, storytelling, creative activities and lots of exploring. 🐭🌲🦊

We are so proud of how our Nursery children are settling in and can't wait to see their confidence, independence and friendships continue to grow! 💕✨
