We have been discussing which animals live in the water, which animals live on land, which animals crawl, which animals fly. The children then went on to create a water area for the water animals, including an “Orca”, grass for the land animals and a road and lava for the dinosaurs. The children created these structures together, carefully selecting each animal and saying why it should go in the water, “An elephant needs to drink water for his trunk” and “An elephant goes in the water in Africa”.

We were very lucky this afternoon, a fire engine came to visit us. The crew let the children sit in the back of the engine and they put their lights and sirens on. This was a really lovely experience, Thankyou so much South Yorkshire Fire Fighters.

We have been taking a close look at our caterpillars this morning. We know that they started off as an egg and are very excited to see the progress as these tiny little caterpillars grow. We have been doing lots of language about life cycles and can not wait to see them develop.
