A huge well done to all of our Year 6 pupils for the outstanding effort, resilience and determination they have shown throughout SATs this week. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.
SATs are only one part of your school journey, but the confidence, commitment and hard work you have demonstrated this week have truly been exceptional.
Throughout the week, they have embodied our school values of Excellence, Respect, Pride and Community. They have strived for excellence by always giving their very best, shown respect through the kindness and encouragement they have given to one another, and taken pride in themselves, their work and our school community.
It has been wonderful to see the children supporting one another, arriving each day with smiles on their faces and demonstrating such a positive attitude. Their behaviour and conduct have been a credit to themselves, their families and our school.
A special thank you must also go to our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly to prepare and encourage the children, and to parents and carers for your continued support, reassurance and encouragement at home.
Year 6, you should all feel extremely proud of what you have achieved this week. We hope you take time to relax, celebrate and enjoy the exciting weeks ahead as you prepare for the next stage of your journey.

It’s been a fantastic first week back at school. Our pupils have settled back into their daily routine exceptionally well.
Year 1 have had an exciting trip to the Coal Mining Museum, which links brilliantly with their current Enquiry. The Year 2 pupils are looking forward to going next week.
We’ve also welcomed a special visitor into KS1, who has shared their experience of working as a miner and what it was like going down into the mine — a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn first-hand.
A quick reminder to please check that your Arbor notifications are turned on, as important letters and key dates have been sent home this week using our new system.

This week in school, we are celebrating National Storytelling Week. To start the week off, today in assembly each class were presented with a new book for the week. The challenge is to try and finish the book before the week ends on Friday, using any spare minutes during the day to read, read and read!

What a success our first Christmas Carol event was today. The KS2 pupils showed excellent Christmas spirit with their singing and what a heart warming moment it was listening to them! 🎅🏼🎄
Thank you to those that donated towards our chosen charity - Barnsley Hospice. From the sale of hot drinks and apple crumble we have currently made £160. Please feel free to make any further donations tomorrow.

This morning we have been lucky enough to have a VERY special visitor… Father Christmas! What a perfect day for a visit on Christmas jumper and dinner day! He made a very special visit to each classroom with a little gift for each child🎅🏼🎄

We were lucky enough to welcome Eleanor from Barnsley Youth Choir into school today - Barnsley Youth Choir.
All pupils from Reception-Year 6 took part in a musical workshop with elements of singing and performing. This was thoroughly enjoyed by both pupils and staff members too. As always our children showcased our school values through their excellent behaviour!
