🌟 Week 39 at Shiningstars Daycare! 🌟

Baby Room have been getting creative with sponge painting, exploring autumn textures and squishing sensory bags with their hands and feet. Why let your hands have all the fun?! 🎨🦶🍂

Little Room have been exploring cereal, washing pumpkins, making Gruffalo soup and giving him some peg spikes. A bath, lunch and a makeover… he’s got a better routine than most of us! 😂🥣

Big Room have been creating colourful lollipop-stick patterns, enjoying a pamper day while learning about personal hygiene, and printing pumpkins with apples. Meanwhile, the staff’s spa treatment remains washing paint off their elbows! 🫧🎃

Another busy week of learning, laughter and sending the washing machine our deepest apologies! 💛

We’re delighted to announce that bookings are now open for our October half-term open days! 💛

Whether you’re looking for childcare from January 2027, September 2027, or beyond, we would love to welcome you into our nursery.

This will be our final open-day event before September 2027, so it’s the perfect opportunity to explore our rooms, meet our wonderful team and see what makes Shiningstars such a special place for children to play, learn and grow together. 🌈⭐

During your visit, you’ll be able to:

⭐ Explore our nursery rooms and learning spaces
⭐ Meet our friendly and caring team
⭐ Learn about our routines, activities and family-feel approach
⭐ Discuss sessions, funding and availability
⭐ See our nursery in action!

Our Available Session Times

👶 Children aged 0–2 years:
• 8am–5pm
• 8am–6pm

🌟 Children aged 2 years and over:
• 8am–1pm
• 8am–5pm
• 8am–6pm

To give yourself the best possible chance of securing the childcare you need, please have your preferred days and session times in mind before attending. Places are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Securing a Nursery Place

If you are offered a nursery place and choose to accept it, a non-refundable £50 deposit will be required to secure your child’s place.

This deposit will be deducted from your child’s first monthly invoice, so it is not an additional charge when your child starts with us.

A Little Note Before You Visit 💛

All visitors must have a confirmed booking, as we’re unable to accommodate walk-ins.

Our current Shiningstars children will still be enjoying their day with us, so we kindly ask that you keep the number of people attending with you to a minimum.

Children are, of course, welcome to join you—we simply ask that you supervise them closely and remain responsible for them throughout your visit.

🌟 Week 38 at Shiningstars Daycare! 🌟

Baby Room have been creating messy autumn trees, practising their pincer grip with pom-pom painting and making Owl Babies pictures. Tiny hands, big masterpieces… paint everywhere! 🎨🦉

Little Room have been hunting for bugs and Gruffalo characters in the deep dark wood, toasting marshmallows during their campfire activity and creating wobble chickens. Even the chickens are feeling wobbly after such a busy week! 😂🐔

Big Room have been busy scooping and tipping, making handprint Gruffalos and exploring an autumn fruit tree sensory activity. Who knew those little hands could make such terrible claws?! 🍎🌳

Another week of learning, laughter and getting more paint on ourselves than the paper! 🍂💛

🌟 Week 37 at Shiningstars Daycare! 🌟

This week has been full of autumn fun, tiny creatures, colourful owls and deep dark wood adventures! 🍂🦉🌳

Baby Room have been exploring soil trays, searching for little creatures, making colourful owl art and getting stuck into autumn playdough with cutters, rolling pins and lollypop-stick trees. Messy? Absolutely. Worth it? Always! 🎨

Little Room have been creating autumn handprints, practising independence with shoes and socks, adding purple prickles and exploring a pea tray just like the Gruffalo’s poisonous wart. Very glamorous, very green! 😂💚

Big Room have been exploring animal footprints, making owl ice cream and creating Gruffalo-inspired artwork while building fine motor skills, story recall and imagination. Serious deep dark wood business! 🐾

Another lovely week of learning, laughter and autumn adventures. 💛

If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, it’s time to apply for their primary school place for September 2027! 💛

📅 Applications close on 15 January 2027.

Barnsley residents can choose up to three schools, listed in order of preference.

Whether you’re a Level 2 or Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner, or ready to begin a Level 3 Early Years apprenticeship, we’d love to hear from you.

From bringing stories to life and getting creative with messy play to celebrating those little milestones, you’ll help children feel safe, happy and confident as they grow. 🌈

⭐ Qualified practitioners should:

✅ Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification.
✅ Have a good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding.
✅ Enjoy planning activities that follow children’s interests and support their development.
✅ Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

🌱 Apprentice applicants should:

✅ Have GCSE Maths and English.
✅ Be willing to study towards a Level 3 Early Years qualification.
✅ Be enthusiastic, ready to learn and happy to get involved.
✅ Have a caring, patient approach and a passion for working with children.

💛 For both roles, we’re looking for reliable team players who bring kindness, initiative and a sense of humour to our busy nursery. You’ll join a welcoming setting with a family feel, where teamwork matters and your contribution is valued.
