🤔 Problem Solving in the EYFS- encouraging children to think critically, test ideas and develop independence through hands on enabling environments 🤔

This clever duo didn't think twice about retrieving the light up balls from under the sofa.
They used blankets, foam bricks, kitchen utensils and most importantly, team work to eventually reach the balls.
The use of language developing was fantastic to observe, and their proud little faces when they eventually managed to reach the balls was a joy to see 😁

What a lovely way to spend the day 😁 at the 'Inspiring Early Years Conference'

I have come away totally inspired by Greg Bottrill's 'Story Dough' workshop and can't wait to do some sessions with the Little Treasures.
These sessions are super exciting, encouraging children to use their imaginations and to extend vocabulary. This will also encourage fine motor skills which is essential for our mark making and writing skills which are developing beautifully within the setting.
I've also purchased some fantastic story resources which will be lovely to introduce to the setting this week for World book day!
And Scrap Dragon had some great loose parts to add to our outdoor area. Can't wait to see what the children do with them.
I've come away with Potty Training & Starting Reception leaflets to pass along to parents who need them. I've also signed the setting up to do a Oral Hygeine scheme which we will be starting in the near future and have got each child a toothbrush & toothpaste for at home.

Huge thank you to all the parents who donated toward our homeless appeal.
We managed to collect enough items to fill 2 boxes and a bag 😁
All donations have now been delivered and we're gratefully received, it's so kind of you all to join in to support this worthwhile cause.
