What a year for MMY tuition! 2025/2026 has been all about growth! This year I’ve supported and taught students studying:

Since my move to Dubai I’ve become a teacher of AQA A Level literature as well as IGCSE English language and literature. I still keep in touch with both the WJEC specification and AQA GCSE. It has been without doubt the best learning opportunity for me as a practitioner. I highly recommend teaching internationally for anyone wanting to broaden their experience and challenge themselves in an albeit different way. Had I done this before marriage and kids I would’ve loved to take teaching further afield perhaps to Malaysia, Europe or even Australia. Maybe one day. Time will tell. 👩🏻‍🏫📚✈️🌎

Update on life in Dubai…

I’m in my second year of teaching the iGCSE specification. First year of teaching A Level Literature. I absolutely LOVE teaching A Level and being here has given me opportunity to read and teach new texts and experience the joy of coursework.

I still dip in and out of tutoring friends’ kids online to stay in touch with the specs and texts back home.

If any of my friends are interested in teaching over seas for a while I’d highly recommend it. It’s such a different way of life and a unique experience. Will we be back uk side anytime soon? As yet we don’t think so. I am hyper aware I need to get my pension sorted though and do some next level adulting. We do get homesick especially at this time of year. We do miss our friends and family although being inundated with visitors this year has helped massively. 💛

One day who knows. The biggest lesson moving to Dubai has taught me is that if you’re a teacher the world is your oyster. You can literally move anywhere. And home is always home. It will still be there when you’ve finished the adventure. ✨

Yesterday was the first English exam.

I’ve loved getting to knew new texts this year. However, I’m really not sad to say goodbye to Victor Frankenstein for a while. If ever there’s a character you just love to hate it’s him. 😡🤣
