We don't always realise how fast time goes until the little moments become memories. When I first opened my doors as a childminder this little cherub burst through it at just 2 years old and eased me gently into the job role. She stayed with us until she started full time school and what fun times we had. She still comes to visit and video calls us from time to time, it's always like she's never been away π

Our week in pictures! We have enjoyed play dates at Sharon's house and Kirstys house this week, visited tots explore and met up with our friends daily and Steve even joined us on our trip to Locke park. In the Early Years Foundation Stage young children forge healthy, strong bonds with adults and peers through secure attachments, play-based interactions, and adult role-modeling. These relational foundations allow children to feel safe, develop empathy, and build essential social skills.

One of our goals this term was to ditch drinky bottles altogether and switch to open top cups for all children across the setting. Even when out and about, and at all times and with no exceptions, we are now using open top cups exclusively and it's so much better for everyone all round. The children are consuming more fluids and it has improved their focus and coordination.

Sometimes when you show the rain you're not afraid, the rain hides from you π A full morning in Locke Park yesterday with the cubs, we headed up to the bandstand where we chatted to the park keeper who was on his litter picking round. We watched some workmen from the council felling the trees because they had disease. Their saws were extremely loud and a little scary.
We found Rapunzel's tower and could hear her snoring π€...we couldn't wake her up π and we called to visit the goblin but he was grumpy and told us to go away π€£ In the EYFS, make-believe play is a vital tool for development, allowing children to explore new roles, negotiate scenarios, and make sense of the world around them.
We also visited the play park and were joined by an inquisitive squirrel.
~. Each day of our lives, we make deposits in the memory banks of our children
These children thrive in the great outdoors so this week we visited Wigfield farm for a very special Christmas event. The children were so well behaved as they often are and we had so much fun wishing a Merry Christmas to all our favourite animal friends.
