We did it! 🎉 Our very first Wellsing Summer Event was a fantastic success!

A huge well done to all the Year 4 and 5 pupils who took part in this wonderful opportunity. You sang your hearts out, your behaviour was impeccable, and you represented our school brilliantly. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.

You truly made our school proud! 🌟

Willow and Elm

Oracy, communication and language are a crucial part of early years development and are a key priority at Oakhill. Spending time talking with your child can support their communication and language skills, helping them to build vocabulary, develop confidence, express their thoughts and feelings, and strengthen their understanding of the world around them.

One of our amazing grandparents has kindly shared some incredible photographs from our recent visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Experiences such as educational visits can be powerful opportunities for children to expand their learning, develop their vocabulary, and engage in meaningful conversations about their experiences.

Why not take some time to look through the photographs with your child and relive some of the magic we experienced on the trip? Encourage them to talk about what they saw, share their favourite moments, describe the animals, and ask questions. These conversations can help to develop language skills while bringing the memories of a wonderful day back to life.

These wonderful images help to bring the experience back to life and provide valuable opportunities to continue the children's learning, conversations, and curiosity long after the trip has ended.

Today Juniper class had story time outside in the shade! ☀️☀️

Our wonderful Year 6 students had a fantastic experience during their Enterprise Day. They demonstrated excellent teamwork and creativity, showing themselves to be true little entrepreneurs.

The children in Elm and Willow class enjoyed exploring the animals’ shadows before drawing around them. This activity encouraged careful observation and sparked conversations about shape, size, and how shadows are formed.

This morning, Willow and Elm were given a special mission to create shelters for their wild animals that would protect them from the sun and rain. Working with a partner, the children designed and built some amazing enclosures, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and thoughtful problem-solving.

REMINDER

Tomorrow is Out of Uniform Day in return for something towards our Summer Fair as below. Children can also come in their England kits before the game tomorrow night.
