PE in Holly Class!

This week in PE, Holly Class have been developing their shooting skills!

The children practised striking the ball with power and accuracy, focusing on using the correct part of their foot when shooting. They worked hard to improve their technique and build confidence when striking the ball towards the goal. 👟⚽

There were some fantastic shots and plenty of enthusiasm throughout the session! Well done, Holly Class!

Here is last week’s Top Spot Writer for Holly Class!

He has absolutely amazed us with his wonderful ability to write a non-chronological report, sharing information clearly and confidently. We have also been so impressed by how beautifully presented his handwriting is!

Today, Holly Class became art researchers as we explored the fascinating work of Andy Goldsworthy, a renowned sculptor and environmental artist.

The children researched his life and artwork before creating their own fact files, using photographs of some of his incredible sculptures for inspiration.

Did you know that Andy Goldsworthy often uses materials found in the natural environment, including rocks, ice, leaves, mud, snow, twigs and pinecones, to create his sculptures? His work encourages us to look closely at nature and see the artistic possibilities all around us.

We were so impressed by the children’s enthusiasm, creativity and careful research today!

🌟 Birch Class are off to a fantastic start in Year 6! 🌟

Our eldest children have settled into their new year brilliantly, showing maturity, enthusiasm and a real readiness to take on the responsibilities that come with being the oldest children in school. 🍃

They have already enjoyed an exciting Science lesson, beginning their new topic by investigating processed and unprocessed foods. 🧪🥦🍎 🍔

We’re looking forward to all the learning, challenges and memorable moments still to come! 💚✨

Chestnut Class certainly enjoyed their PE lesson with Barnsley football in the community coaches, Charlie and Brad. Key words for the session were LOOK 👀 Avoid and Move 🏃 The children played games in pairs and as a team. We are quite a competitive bunch 😀😀
