πŸš‚πŸŒ² All Aboard for a Train Track Adventure! πŸŒ²πŸš‚

Following our fascination with trains, the children created an exciting twisting and winding track that travelled through the forest and past the farm! πŸ„πŸŒ³

With paper and pencils, we drew pictures of our trains and used our wonderful imaginations to create stories about where they were travelling. We also used play dough to build caves and tunnels, making fascinating imprints with the trains and tracks as they travelled underneath and through. ✏️✨

Our colourful trains inspired us to explore, copy and continue colour patterns, showing fantastic concentration and problem-solving skills. We also matched the numbered logs to the corresponding trains while comparing and arranging their different shapes and sizes. πŸ”’πŸŒˆ

Everyone worked together beautifully, demonstrating wonderful sharing, turn-taking and teamwork. We are incredibly proud of all our Giant Giraffes! πŸ’›πŸ‘

πŸ§ͺ🌈 Making Our Feelings Potions! 🌈πŸ§ͺ

Today we explored our feelings and emotions by creating our very own colourful feelings potions! πŸ’πŸ’•

πŸ’› Yellow represented happy
❀️ Red represented anger
πŸ’™ Blue represented sad
🩷 Pink represented love

As we mixed, poured and explored our potions, we chatted together about each emotion and what it might feel like. We shared ideas about what makes us happy, what might make us feel sad or angry, and the people and things that we love. πŸ₯°

The children were encouraged to recognise and name different emotions while listening to their friends and beginning to understand that everyone can feel differently. We also talked about ways we can help ourselves and others when we experience big feelings. 🌿✨

A lovely hands-on activity supporting Personal, Social & Emotional Development, communication and language, emotional awareness and turn-taking, while having lots of colourful sensory fun! πŸ§ͺ🌈

πŸ“πŸ« Bash, Squeeze & Squish! πŸ«πŸ“

Happy Hippos had lots of messy, sensory fun exploring blackberries and raspberries! 🌿

We used a variety of different tools to bash, squash and press the berries, watching as they changed shape and released their beautiful natural colours. We also got stuck in with our hands, squeezing the berries between our fingers and feeling all the different textures. πŸ™Œ

As we explored, we introduced simple action words such as β€œbash, bash, bash!”, β€œsqueeze”, β€œsquish” and β€œpress”, encouraging the children to listen, copy and join in with the words. πŸ—£οΈβœ¨

A wonderfully messy Curiosity Approach and Forest School-inspired experience, supporting sensory exploration, fine motor development, hand strength, communication and language, all while discovering natural foods through play. πŸŒΏπŸ’œ

What a lovely day. We managed to avoid the heavy rain and enjoyed splashing in the puddles. The children have enjoyed bug hunting and mud pie play in the forest area and loved meeting Farmer Ella and helping her do her jobs in the barn.

Wow it was good to back at the farm. The children were very excited to see the animals and play in the forest area. We did some bug hunting and learnt the rules about how we sit in the new fire circle. In the barn we met Farmer Ella and got to know all the animals and the different foods we feed them.

πŸ§ŠπŸ’¦ Ice, Ice, Baby! πŸ’¦πŸ§Š

Our Happy Hippos have enjoyed exploring ice and discovering what happens when we add warm water! We watched closely as the ice slowly melted and talked about how it changed from solid ice into water.

The children practised scooping, pouring and filling different containers while counting together, β€œ1, 2, 3!” πŸ”’

A wonderfully chilly activity supporting curiosity, early maths, fine motor skills and an understanding of the world around us! πŸ¦›πŸ’™

🐞🌿 Garden Creatures & Mini-Beasts! πŸπŸ•·οΈ

Following our fascination with animals and their habitats, we explored the wonderful world of garden creatures and mini-beasts!
We examined a variety of insects, learned their names and compared how many legs they have. We also chatted about the important role these tiny creatures play in looking after our environment. πŸŒπŸ¦‹

Using playdough, herbs, tissue paper and pipe cleaners, the children created their own beautiful gardens and flowers. We especially enjoyed using rollers to make fantastic spider-web and honeycomb patterns! πŸŒΈπŸ―πŸ•ΈοΈ

A lovely hands-on experience filled with creativity, curiosity, early maths and plenty of mini-beast discoveries! πŸ›πŸ’š

What a lovely last day we have had at farm Forest school for the holiday club. The children wanted to go for a walk to the woods, so we walked through the woods to the park. We had lots of fun i the barn playing and feeding the animals before going to the arena with Farmer Toby and pretending to be horses with Hank the dog.

What a lovely day at the farm the holiday club have had. We played in the forest area making potions and played tug of war with the rope. We fed all the animals we even got a cuddle off the donkeys Jack and Jill. We played with Hank the dog in the arena and watched how high he could jump, some of the children could jump higher.

πŸ¦– Digging into the past! 🦴

We became little palaeontologists as we explored fossils and discovered how they are formed. We used skeleton dinosaurs and carefully pushed them into clay to create our very own natural-looking fossils!

We used our fine motor skills to squash, press, squeeze and flatten the clay before making different dinosaur imprints. We enjoyed examining the patterns, bones and shapes left behind, encouraging lots of curiosity, creativity and wonderful conversations.

What a roarsome prehistoric adventure! πŸ¦•πŸ€Ž
