🎉 Celebrating Success Across the TAS Trust! 🎉
In November 2024, we welcomed our third ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) inspection — and we’re proud to share that all standards were met.
This is a huge achievement, and we are incredibly proud of our staff, pupils and wider school community who contribute every day to making our schools safe, supportive and successful places to learn.

MEET OUR NEW EXECUTIVE HEAD ✨
We’re delighted to welcome Neil Reynolds as the new Executive Headteacher of The Alternative School Trust (TAS), a network of eight specialist schools across Lancashire.
Neil brings over 25 years of experience in education, alongside leadership skills gained from a successful career in football management — including roles at FC United of Manchester and Warrington Rylands. His background in both sectors has shaped a leadership style focused on teamwork, trust, and high standards.
Neil said:
“We provide the kind of responsive, human-centred education that so many of our pupils have missed out on. My aim is to strengthen the trust’s strategic focus while keeping each school’s unique identity and strong community ties.”
TAS supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs through innovative and therapeutic approaches — from narrowboat learning and mobile classrooms to virtual tutoring. Neil’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter as the trust continues to grow and evolve.
Founder Kirsty-Anne Pugh added:
“Neil’s calm leadership and deep understanding of our pupils make him a perfect fit. He knows this work is about more than education — it’s about helping young people feel safe, valued, and supported.”
