Current students and ex students - I’ve recently had lagging/ex students putting on unhealthy weight and complaining about it, so thought I’d share the following;

Have you cut back on your taijutsu training? Got a spare tyre? Did you know that our hour and a half taijutsu session burns up about 1000 calories? Did you know that jogging for the same amount of time burns about 700 calories?

So if you were training taijutsu twice a week, you was burning 2000 calories, which is equivalent to 3 hours jogging a week. If you cut back on taijutsu and are putting on weight, now you know why!

It is recommended that one does 2 cardio sessions a week to get in shape. To achieve this, you could hit the dojo twice a week and get good at combat, or go run for 3 hours a week. It’s up to you, but personally I prefer taijutsu. Alternatively, you could do no exercise and eat less, though your heart won’t benefit.

If you don’t want to roll with your growing spare tyre, you don’t want to run and you don’t want to starve yourself - come, train and kick some butt! Whatever you decide - just don’t do nothing!
