Spring has sprung in Pre-School this week, so what a perfect opportunity to head out for a walk for some gardening supplies from Maxwells DIY🪏. We always receive such a warm welcome from the staff, and the children always love a shopping trip!🛒

Everyone was in awe of all the wonderful colours and varieties of flowers and vegetables they could choose, and they soon got to work in choosing lots of seeds for our garden🌻🥕. When we got to the till Gavin very kindly gave us all that we had chosen for free! He then came to visit us the next day with a wonderful delivery of compost, herb plants and essentials for our garden!🪴 We would just like to say a huge thank you to Gavin Rudge and the team at Maxwells for their amazing generosity and kindness!✨

✨Random Act of Kindness✨

We have been working on February’s ‘Random Act of Kindness’ for a few weeks now!🎨 Anchor - The Manor House Barnard Castle, one of our local residential care homes, joined a project to help Amelia Kolpa, from the Black Country, receive as many birthday cards as possible. Amelia has neuroblastoma and wants to use her 8th birthday to break the record for the most birthday cards received in the UK!🎁 Amelia’s birthday is the 3rd March, and so we decided that we would love to help her try and break this record! Each of your little ones in Pre-School has made Amelia a birthday card over the last few weeks, and on Tuesday we went to drop our cards off at The Manor House. We absolutely loved doing this Act of Kindness and we truly hope that Amelia manages to break the record!🏅

If anyone would like to get involved then there is still a little bit of time! Cards can be posted in the box in The Manor House’s reception before this Sunday, 22nd February🧡

✨Random Acts of Kindness✨

As part of our nursery ethos we carry out random acts of kindness each month. This can include all sorts of things, such as giving gifts, visiting places to say our thanks, and offering our support to any other projects that we may hear about. We are always looking out for new things we can do, and we’d love to hear any new ideas from both our families and the wider community❤️

In Pre-School, our first ‘Random Act of Kindness’ this year has been such a special one! One of our lovely parents is currently in Ghana to ‘put a smile on some children’s faces’ by teaching them all about oral hygiene🪥 After learning about this trip we were eager to support in any way we could, and so we kindly asked all of our parents if they would like to donate anything towards this project. And of course we have been overwhelmed with generosity!! We managed to assemble a large collection of toothbrushes, toothpaste and stationary for this parent to take with her, which is just fantastic! We are so happy to help and we can’t wait to hear all about the trip when she gets back! 🌍🇬🇭
