As well as the football kits we also sent out the waterproof coats, some white polo shirts and book bags. In fact everything we could find with a badge on that didn't prove to be too heavy for Mr and Mrs Beecham to take out with them.

The moment we found the time capsule.

We found this amongst some of the old photographs at school. Anyone know anything about it? We don't know if it has a special significance.

In 2009 a number of pupils (Kirsty Wilkinson, Elizabeth Barber, Kyle Ritchie, Peter Atkinson, Bethany Peart and Jasmine Williams), buried a time capsule in the school grounds. We have the article from the Northern Echo and today we used this to locate it. The items they buried will be on display on Wednesday 30th November.

On Wednesday 30th November Startforth Morritt Memorial C.E. Primary School will host an open day from 2pm – 8pm.

We would like to invite former staff, pupils, parents and members of the community to come along and share memories they have of the school.

There will be photographs, records and newspaper clippings on display, giving people the chance to get together to talk about the past and share their stories about Startforth School.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day and we hope that many of you will be able to come along to this informal gathering and share some of your memories with us, you might even be able to identify some of the people on the photographs for us.

If you have any pictures we could display, please get in touch. We would make sure these were returned after the event.
