Year 5 had a visit from Canal & River Trust . They had great discussions about canals, how they worked and what they were used for. We even did some role play where we had an engineer in charge of all of the navvies.

🏭 Year 3 Linking Project - Industrial Museum ⚙️
Year 3 are enjoying their Schools Linking Network. They recently visited Calderdale Industrial Museum! They started with ice-breaker games, thinking about visible and invisible similarities and differences.

Group A enjoyed their first activity with their partners from New Road. Their task was to identify the properties of 20 mystery objects in 20 different bags. Are they rigid? Squishy? Light? Heavy? This activity requires good communication and listening. 🗣️

We look forward to meeting with New Road again soon!

🎨 ART AND DT 🫟
Year 5 continued their installation Art topic. This time the children worked in groups to produce their own installation art with everyday items found in school.

Within Art and DT we ensure that all children access the learning of skills appropriate to their age. We endeavour to ensure that skills are progressive and developmental. Effective links are made where appropriate to support previous or future learning.

🏉 RUGBY TASTER SESSION 🏉
We have been very lucky to have Gavin from come and run taster sessions for our KS1 pupils - who thoroughly enjoyed trying something new. 🌈🐑 Thank you Gavin!!

🏉 Today we returned for the Yr 3/4 Tag Rugby Festival in partnership with Halifax Panthers Foundation!

It was fantastic to see 11 schools and over 100 students taking part, showing great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day 👏

After some brilliant matches, here are the final standings:
