💫 Children can receive 2.5 hours of funded childcare per day, five days a week during term time.

Our Flying Start Children have loved their end of term parties today! They've enjoyed playing party games and dancing! All of the children won awards for being amazing dancers, friends and having the best smiles!
Some of our friends will be going off to big school and some children we will welcome back in September, and not to forget all the friends that will come to summer holiday club, we have amazing plans we can't wait to see how much fun you will be having.
A big thank you for all of the staff's gifts and cards, we have been spoilt!
We hope everyone has the best summer!

Over this past week the children at Sweet Peas have been busy developing their fine and gross motor skills. The children have been taking part in activities including water colour splashes, porridge trucks, malleable watermelons and much more! All of the activities help the children learn speech skills, social skills, hand-eye coordination as well as making their time at nursery engaging and fun :)

Over the last few weeks our clever boys and girls have been flower paint printing. This activity helps the children develop their fine motor skills by holding the flower stems in a pincer grip, improving their hand-eye coordination skills by painting the flowers with the paintbrushes and learning new speech skills. They have made beautiful pictures using natural resources, well done everyone!

This week, we have been keeping cool with lots of fun water and ice activities. Alongside our lovely air conditioning, the children have been enjoying playing with cool water and exploring ice to help them stay comfortable during the heatwave. They have particularly loved making orange juice, washing the baby dolls, and investigating the ice with sea animals. These experiences support the children's fine and gross motor skills, encourage social interaction, and help to develop their speech and language. Well done everyone!

*EXTREME HEAT*

I’m sure that by now you will all have heard that there will be extreme heat tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday this week.

We are very lucky to have aircon units throughout the whole nursery, therefore, we will be opening as normal.

We have however, made the decision to not use the garden for the next few days, and will be having more water breaks to ensure the children remain hydrated.

Please ensure that you still do apply suncream to your children for the journery in and out of nursery, and ensure they are wearing a hat.

We do however understand that you may not want to make the journey into nursery in the heat, but please do let us know.
