Welcome to the jungle! πΏπ¦
Our young explorers in Nursery have been exploring the fascinating world of the jungle and rainforest. They enjoyed reading Walking Through the Jungle by Julie Lacome, where they listened carefully to the animal sounds and excitedly guessed which animal was hiding on the next page before revealing the answer.
The children investigated animal tracks, created jungle animal crafts, and enjoyed imaginative play through jungle-themed sensory activities. πππ΄

π A very exciting day for our Nursery, Pre-school and Reception children as they welcomed local firefighters to school this week!
From exploring the fire engine and sitting in the cab to learning about the equipment used to keep us safe, the children loved every moment of this hands-on experience.
A huge thank you to our local fire crew for such a memorable visit!

On Curiosity Day, children embraced opportunities to learn beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
During a walk to the Banstead Woods Narnia trail, Year 4 made an exciting discovery that sparked plenty of discussion and investigation β what may possibly be a 17th or 18th century cloth seal. The children were thrilled by their find!
Earlier in their adventure, they had also successfully identified a large Roman snail, demonstrating excellent observation skills and a real enthusiasm for learning about the world around them.
The finders have since been in contact with the Banstead History Group to find out more about it. The group want to include it in their newsletter!
What a fantastic example of curiosity in action! π

What a fantastic week of Sports Days across the school!
The weather held out for us to enjoy a wonderful range of events on our extensive sports fields, from relays, running races and long jump to shot put and tug of war.
The children were brilliant in so many ways, showing determination, teamwork, resilience and great sportsmanship throughout. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see so many parents and family members cheering from the sidelines.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support. It was a superb celebration of sport and school spirit!

Cuddly curiosity π§Έ
A warm welcome to our future Reception children and their families for this weekβs Cuddly Curiosity afternoon.
Children enjoyed games, activities and time with our Reception team, while introducing their favourite cuddly toys. It was a lovely opportunity to explore the Reception environment, make new friends and begin building confidence ahead of September.
Meanwhile, parents and carers joined a workshop to learn more about the transition into Reception, including daily routines, learning through play and practical ways to support their child at home.
We loved seeing everyone and canβt wait to welcome them back soon! β¨
