Today, I want to remind you—just as I remind myself—that it’s never a step backward in your progress to regularly focus on the basics and fundamentals. That’s where real growth happens. …….
After nearly three decades of spending time with this instrument, I’m still—maybe more than ever—fascinated by how the smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference. Something as simple as shifting the contact point on the stick by just 1 or 2 millimeters can completely change the feel and result.

It’s one of those countless reminders from the drums that details matter. The whole system is so sensitive, and that’s part of what makes it so endlessly intriguing.

It’s a constant cycle: exploring advanced concepts, pushing boundaries, and then returning to the absolute fundamentals. There’s a meditative beauty in that process.
