Getting Your Raw Score
You will now have been digesting your child's standardised score and have schools whirring around your brain.
If you would like to obtain their raw scores you can.
To do this, you simply email them at [email protected] or by telephone on 02890 224002.
You may just be curious and like to know them after all the months of seeing scores out of 64 converted into percentages.
Now that the dust has settled and you have taken a breath try to remember. The AQE is a score based on three papers taken over 3 hours, nothing more, nothing less. Whether your child scored higher or lower than expected, it sometimes is and sometimes isnt a true reflection of what they are capable of. I know you will have been so proud of the effort they all put in over the last year. We are surrounded by so many wonderful schools in North Down and I know you will be able to find an environment that will nurture and develop them. Whichever school you decide upon, ensure you read all criteria carefully and then state on their form how your child meets it. Good luck for the incoming week.
I was asked how scores are calculated
How are AQE scores worked out – The Rough Guide
1. Children will have taken 3 AQE tests
2. Each test is then marked and given a
score out of 64
There is usually 32 marks for Literacy and 32 for Numeracy on each paper
3. Next the best 2 scores are selected
4. Your child’s total is then averaged against
other pupils with the same birthday month
as them
‘Marks are not given or taken away because of age’
5. Your child’s averaged score is then
converted into a standardised score ranging
from 50s upto 140
6. The average is usually around 100
Hope this helps. . . .

Count Down until test 1 of this years AQE. I'm guessing 9th Nov, giving 312 days. Could also be 16th Nov. . . . . .
Start the year off right building confidence in recalling their times tables accurately and with quick recall. I can't stress enough how important good knowledge of table facts are in solving most AQE or GL related math problems
