Shopping in English — three very different ways 🥕🛒🍬

When you’re on our English immersion course, practising English doesn’t stop when the class finishes.

Recently our students went shopping in three rather different places:

🥕 Straight from the farmer — fresh local produce and a chance to chat with the people who grow it.

🛒 At the supermarket — everyday English for everyday life.

🍬 And finally, a corner shop from 100 years ago at the Folk Park - discovering how people used to shop, and the language and history that went with it.

Different places. Different conversations. English all day.

That’s what immersion is about.

This week our students went to Bangor Bingo with teacher Karen.

They listened to the numbers in English, chatted with local people, learned a few new expressions… and some even went home with prize money.

At MovingOn Courses, practising English doesn’t stop when the lessons finish.

Did they forget their homework, or have we discovered a new way to practise English?
At MovingOn Courses we take any opportunity to practise English. 🤣

At MovingOn Courses, English does not stop when the lesson ends.

Our students experience Northern Ireland’s local culture with their teachers, continuing to speak, listen and learn in real-life situations.

And with just four students accompanied by two teachers, there was plenty of English practice and personal attention throughout the experience.

100% English. Two students per teacher. Real local experiences.

English practice does not stop when the lesson ends.

Every Wednesday afternoon, a local volunteer joins our students at the house for relaxed conversation.

It is another opportunity to speak naturally, hear a different local accent and build confidence through real conversation.

No textbook. No formal lesson. Just friendly conversation, plenty of laughter and more English throughout the day.

Apparently, learning another language could help keep your brain younger.

Come to MovingOn Courses. Improve your English, exercise your brain, and perhaps take a few years off your mental age.

Sadly, we can’t promise the same result for the rest of your body. 😄
