POST: ​Playgroup Assistant - PRESCHOOL
​Part Time, Temporary until June 2027 with potential for extension

Hours:​28 ½ Hours per week
​8.30 - 3.00 Monday
​8.30 – 2.00 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must hold a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development or the equivalent.

At least 6 months experience of working in a pre-school setting or similar

Experience of working with children with special needs is desirable.

First Aid and Safeguarding training is desirable.

Duties

The role of the Playgroup Assistant is to assist the Room Leader in delivering quality early years education and care for young children. The Playgroup Assistant will also:

• Help prepare and set out the playroom and garden before the children arrive and tidy up after they have left.
• Observe the children and write reports on their progress.
• Help provide and take part in all the Playgroup activities.
• Attend staff meeting and help prepare plans for the group.
• Take part in special events, outings and visits.
• Liaise with parents.
• Ensure the safe keeping of the children.
• Attend relevant evening meetings and courses.
