Rachel and Jane’s class had a wonderful time celebrating Disney Day! We had great fun meeting some Disney characters and enjoyed lots of delicious treats at our Disney-themed brunch. 🌟🍽️
The class also enjoyed a fantastic sensory story experience before making the most of the beautiful sunshine with some outdoor fun. ☀️
It was a fantastic day all round, and everyone looked amazing in their wonderful costumes. 💙✨🏰

💙 A very special Disney Day in Sarah R’s Class 💙
Sarah R’s class had a lovely time celebrating Disney Day!
We enjoyed a Disney banquet during our snack time, a meet and greet with some of our Disney characters, and lots of familiar Disney songs with the wonderful Hannah from RiCh Music. 🎶
The pupils also enjoyed Disney sensory stories, with opportunities to explore, engage and enjoy the magic of Disney in their own way.
A special part of our day was spending some quiet time together blowing bubbles👑❄️ A simple moment, but one filled with a little extra love. Some moments don’t need lots of words. 💫
A lovely day spent together, with special memories made. 💙

Brianne's class had a fantastic Disney-themed day filled with fun, learning and lots of smiles! 🌟
Pupils enjoyed an emotions-themed lesson based on Inside Out. They explored different feelings including happiness, sadness, anger, fear and surprise through discussion, activities and role play. This helped to develop their emotional awareness and understanding of how we all experience different emotions. 😊😢😠😨
The day continued with a delicious Disney-inspired brunch together, developing their independence and social skills while sharing the experience with friends. 🍓🥞🍎
Next, pupils took part in an engaging Toy Story sensory story, bringing Disney magic to life through sights, textures and interactive activities. ✨📖
It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged, making memories, building confidence and having fun while learning.

✨🏰✨ A Magical Disney Day at Clifton! ✨🏰✨

Last Wednesday, a little bit of Disney magic arrived at Clifton as pupils and staff enjoyed a truly enchanting Disney Day! 🌟

From princesses and superheroes to much-loved Disney characters, our school was transformed by an amazing array of fancy dress costumes. 👑🦸‍♂️🐭 Everyone looked simply magical!

There were delicious Disney-themed party treats, lots of laughter, and a whole host of fun-filled activities inspired by some of our favourite Disney stories. 🍭🎈✨

Just like Tinker Bell's pixie dust, excitement and smiles could be found in every classroom, making it a day to remember for everyone. 💫

A huge thank you to all our staff and families who helped make the day so special. The magic, joy and happiness on display reminded us that, as Walt Disney said, "Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever." ❤️

🌾🍎 Bethany's class have been learning all about Harvest during a Sensology session! 🍎🌾
The class began by exploring their senses, using mirrors to help identify their eyes 👀, ears 👂, nose 👃, mouth 👄 and hands ✋.
They then investigated Harvest through each of their five senses:
🥕 Touching a variety of different vegetables
🍎 Watching apples being harvested
🍏 Smelling delicious apple scents
🚜Listening to farmyard sounds
🍎 Tasting a juicy apple
To finish the session, the pupils got creative and made colourful vegetable prints 🎨🥔🥕. Everyone had lots of fun exploring Harvest through sensory play while developing their understanding of the world around them!

🍎🍏 Apple Picking Fun! 🍏🍎

Rachel’s class had a lovely time apple picking in our school garden! 🌳

We learnt all about apples before heading out for a walk to see how many we could find. Everyone took turns picking the apples and carefully placing them into our basket. 🧺🍎

We then brought them back inside to give them a good wash, practise our cutting skills and, of course, some of us enjoyed having a little taste too! 😋

It was such a lovely hands-on learning experience, with lots of opportunities for exploring, turn-taking and developing our independence skills, followed by a storyboarding activity to sequence and retell all the steps for literacy. 📚🍏

Lucy and Sarah's classes have made a fantastic start to their first set of SERC courses this year!
🎨 Sarah's class has started their Art course, getting creative with Sgraffito techniques and painting some fantastic pumpkins.
👩‍🍳 Lucy’s class has started their Catering course, with pupils already enjoying making Rice Krispie buns and scrambled eggs on toast.
We are so proud of their enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to try new skills. We can't wait to see what they achieve throughout the year! 🌟👏

🍂🍁 Exploring Autumn in Kerri's Class 🍁🍂
This term, Kerri's class have been busy exploring all things Autumn! 🌰🍂🍎
The children used their senses to investigate the signs of Autumn, discussing what they could see, touch, taste, hear and smell during this wonderful season. Through these activities, pupils developed their observation skills, enriched their vocabulary and learned to describe their experiences using a range of sensory language.
We also enjoyed a fun Autumn shadow matching activity, where the children carefully looked at the outlines and matched them to the correct Autumn pictures. This helped to develop visual discrimination, problem-solving skills, concentration and early mathematical thinking.
Through our Autumn learning, the children have been building their communication skills, expanding their knowledge of the world around them and developing their ability to explore, investigate and make connections through play-based learning.

🌟 Clifton School at the DE Inclusion Symposium 🌟
Today, our Vice Principal, Brenda Mullan, had the privilege of presenting at the Department of Education Inclusion Symposium, showcasing the outstanding work of our staff and pupils in enabling and empowering pupil voice for all.
Brenda shared Clifton's journey in supporting children and young people with complex learning and communication needs to express their views, influence decisions, and take an active role in their learning.
The day was a wonderful celebration of inclusion, innovation and collaboration, with a strong focus on ensuring every learner feels valued, heard and empowered. We were proud to highlight how technology, creativity and pupil-centred approaches can amplify pupil voice, build confidence and create meaningful opportunities for participation.
