Today we had our first assembly of the new school year! Our Primary 7s also had their first chance of presenting the school assembly, presenting what our school values mean to them.

Thank you very much to Tesco in Banff for their generous donation of apples to the children of Whitehills School and Nursery.

The apples will be distributed by P7 pupils and staff over the next couple days for children who would like.

We welcome pupils back to school next Wednesday 19th August 2026 (with Monday and Tuesday being in-service training days). We hope everyone is having a restful summer break and enjoying the final few days before returning.

Pupils should come to school with their school bag, a water bottle and a waterproof jacket as normal. There is no requirement for pupils to wear PE clothing on the first week back as specific information about your child's PE days will be e-mailed.

☀️& HAPPY SUMMER☀️

Not quite what we had planned for the last day to the beach, but, Team Whitehills and the community thought on the spot and brought the best last day!

A huge thank you to Billy, Shona, David, Kevin and Lorna for not only providing everything for today’s BBQ but also for being so adaptable and changing plans and coming up to the school! To our fantastic canteen ladies for catering for all the kids in the hall!

The kids embraced it though, and we all spent an amazing BBQ lunch together before heading outside to play, sing, dance and enjoy the sun that showed up for the end of the day!!

Happy Summer to everyone, and behalf Team Whitehills, thank you all for your continued support over the year! ☀️❤️

☕️BONNIE WEE CAFE 🍽️

Now that’s what we call showcasing our learning! A fantastic well done to every single one of our P5, P6 and P7 kids! The World of Work and META Skills were truly on show with our pupils taking on the role of servers, kitchen porters, chefs and cafe managers.

Despite the busyness, the kids did absolutely amazing - coped better than the adults under pressure 😂. It has been two weeks of interviews, learning about food hygiene, designing menus, pricing up food, taking notes for order taking and cooking. Skills for life right there!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and reserved a table. A a big thank you to all the local businesses that supported this too, and Lisa in the canteen for giving the kids a lesson on food hygiene and prepping the chicken for us too. We have had excellent feedback so far and the kids were just buzzing afterwards! They’ll sleep tonight for sure, as will Mrs Milne, Mrs Gibb, Mrs Addison and Mr T! 😂😴

Today P1/2 went on an adventure to Sunshine Beach! ✈️

This term we have been exploring the different continents, talking about places we have visited, discussing different ways to travel and places we can stay. So, for our final full day together before the summer holidays, we got handed our boarding passes and boarded our very own plane to go on a special adventure!

Our journey began with an in flight movie, The Snail and the Whale. Once we landed, we collected our items and got ready for a day full of fun. We made lei headbands, picked our sunglasses, had a go at making sand slime, played beach bingo, enjoyed a holiday disco and passed the beach ball around to share our favourite part of the day.

To round off our holiday, we completed a scavenger hunt organised by P2/3, enjoyed some time outside for free play, then boarded our plane one last time for the journey home.

What a way to spend our last full day together before the summer holidays. Thank you, P1/2! ❤️✈️

Our cafe managers will be ready and waiting to take your calls, and we’re hoping to keep them very busy with lots of reservations! ☎️❤️
