Welcome back to Sibford!

We hope our pupils, families and staff have enjoyed a restful and refreshing summer break. Today we’re delighted to welcome everyone back to Sibford – and to extend a very warm welcome to all our new pupils joining the school, from Nursery right through to Sixth Form.

There is so much to look forward to this term. From exciting sporting fixtures and new Horizon Club opportunities to author visits, theatre, museum and Geography fieldtrips and our annual Foxtrot trip, there will be plenty happening both in and beyond the classroom.

Our Key Stage 4 pupils will also have the opportunity to explore their next steps at our Sixth Form Options Evening, while our PSFA events will provide lots of opportunities for parents and families to come together and connect with the wider Sibford community, starting with the Pizza and Prosecco night this Thursday

We’re excited to have the school full of pupils again and look forward to all that the new term will bring.

The PSFA’s Pizza & Prosecco evening returns on Thursday 10 September, from 6–9pm at Sibford’s Outdoor Theatre.

Join fellow Sibford parents for a relaxed and fun evening over pizza and prosecco as we celebrate the start of a new school year. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and meet other parents in the Sibford community.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 pupils as they celebrate the strongest GCSE results in Sibford’s history.

Three quarters of pupils achieved grades 7–9 within their results, with pupils across the year group celebrating multiple Grade 9s alongside some exceptional individual achievements.

There were also outstanding results across a breadth of subjects:

⭐ 100% of Music grades were at 7–9
⭐ 100% of Design Technology grades were at 7–9
⭐ 83% of Higher Spanish grades were at 7–9
⭐ 57% of Higher Mathematics grades were at 7–9

But behind every result is an individual story – of hard work, progress, resilience and ambition – and today we celebrate them all.

Today we are celebrating the achievements of Sibford’s Class of 2026 as students receive their A Level and Level 3 results.

Almost 60% of students achieved at least one A* or A grade, or equivalent, alongside some outstanding subject results:

⭐ 100% of Textiles and Economics grades were at A*/A
⭐ 100% of Religious Studies and Fine Art grades were at A*–B
⭐ 67% of Further Mathematics, Sociology and Product Design grades were at A*–B
⭐ 60% of Mathematics grades were at A*–B, including 40% at A*/A

Behind every result is an individual story – of hard work, progress, resilience and ambition – and today we celebrate them all.

From Medicine, Engineering and Artisan Food Production to Economics, Computer Science, the creative arts and more, our students are now looking ahead to exciting next steps at universities across the country, as well as apprenticeships, employment and further training.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Duty Manager to join our friendly leisure team at Sibford School, near Banbury.

This is a flexible role with part-time to full-time hours considered, including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

💷 Up to £25,871 pro rata (depending on age, qualifications and experience)

Working across our popular leisure facilities, including a 25m swimming pool, plant room and sports hall, you'll help supervise the day-to-day operation of our facilities, ensuring a safe, welcoming and high-quality experience for all users.

We would love to hear from candidates who:
✔ Have experience working in a swimming pool or leisure centre
✔ Are committed to delivering outstanding customer service
✔ Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Have experience supervising staff and maintaining health and safety standards
✔ Hold a Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (or are willing to train)

Full training can be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in the leisure sector.

Join our Summer Holiday Swimming Lessons, running Monday 27 – Thursday 30 July, with 30-minute lessons available between 9.30am and 12.00pm.

Lesson options:
💦 Group lessons – £10.40 per 30-minute session
💦 Attend all 4 days for just £40
💦 Private lessons – £27 per 30-minute session (subject to availability)
