đź’› Every conversation can make a difference.

This World Su***de Prevention Day (10 September), we’re supporting the global theme Changing the Narrative on Su***de and its call to action: Start the Conversation.

Talking about su***de can feel difficult, but open, compassionate conversations can help break down stigma and make it easier for someone to ask for support.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Checking in, listening without judgement and taking someone seriously can make a real difference.

At Activate Learning, our Student Support, Mental Health and Safeguarding teams are here for our students when they need us.

Got Connect to College week in your diary? ❤️

Here's what to expect.

Connect to College Week runs during the first week of September, and you can find out your allocated day by heading to the Activate Learning website and clicking 'Courses', 'Joining a course' and then 'Starting a course'.

This transition week helps new students meet tutors, build friendships, learn routines, and explore campus digital tools before regular timetable classes start.

On your day, you'll take part in various activities designed to help you feel prepared for the transition to college.

We want you to use this week as an opportunity to build relationships, explore the tools required for learning at college, and establish positive routines and expectations.

See you there!

Banbury and Bicester College are celebrating learners receiving their GCSE results today ❤️🎓

Students have achieved excellent results, reflecting their hard work, determination and ambition across both academic and technical qualifications.

Hannah O'Neill, Group Director of Academic Studies Faculty at Activate Learning, said: “Today is an opportunity to recognise the commitment, resilience and perseverance our learners have shown throughout their studies. Their results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the personal growth and confidence they have developed along the way.

Joanna Raeburn, who achieved a grade 8 in her GCSE maths, said: "I was nervous about Results Day, which felt strange. I’ve taught English for 32 years, so wanting to learn Maths was a real challenge and departure for me. I’m used to being nervous for student results. This time it was me!

"Having achieved an 8, which I am delighted with, I now feel confident to teach some maths alongside my English teaching. I’m really excited about this, as it’s so good to keep learning, even in my mid-fifties! The course gave me so much self-belief and I’m so grateful to my tutor and the team for being so brilliant!"
