Adventures!
We LOVE adventures! Near or far! Today we are romping the fields and enjoying a favourite local park!
Part of being an adventurer is being prepared! We always have our spare clothes, water, first aid kit... but now we also have LittleLink ID ! I cannot stress the piece of mind knowing that children's emergency contacts are safely stored and easily accessible in an emergency, in a way that is clear and visible!
I am NOT being paid for this post! I just truly think every childminder should have one! Total game changer!

I am beyond delighted to be able to officially announce that Little Acorns is AN AWARD WINNING SETTING!
I honestly cannot express how absolutely amazing this is and how much it means to me! 8 years ago I started childminding to create a little corner of the world that embodied everything I felt gave children the best start in life and to see it grow like this makes my heart want to burst with joy and pride!
A massive thank you to all of the children, families, friends, colleagues and my own family that support myself and Little Acorns to make it something truly special

I am beyond delighted to be able to officially announce that Little Acorns is AN AWARD WINNING SETTING!

I honestly cannot express how absolutely amazing this is and how much it means to me! 8 years ago I started childminding to create a little corner of the world that embodied everything I felt gave children the best start in life and to see it grow like this makes my heart want to burst with joy and pride!

The Little Acorns Observatory!
This was the brain child of a group of 5 children ages between 3 and 10! The thought behind the construction, the rules of accessing the building and use of it was phenomenal!
The younger children were describing the planets, moons and stars they could see in great detail!
I had no influence in how this play developed, it was totally organic!
It is one of those types of play when there is a tinge of sadness that the day must end.

Birthday Traditions!
In our setting, the children all get to choose a "Birthday Bake" on the day nearest their birthday - today we baked cocoa and almond cookies! And then every child gets to open the Birthday Box and make a wish!

The best cheerleaders!
These 3 Little Acorns came to support all of our Bigger Acorns at their Summerfest concert! The sang, they danced, they cheered their little hearts out! I was, as ever, so immensely proud of them 💖

Quietly quietly... QUACK!
We were kindly given this jolly book by Jonty Howley by the lovely folks at Quarto Kids to review!
The children ADORE this book of little ducklings on their adventures with one not-so-stealthy sibling! The illustrations are so adorable and engaging with so much more going on than just the story. The repetitive phrasing really supported the children in becoming immersed in being part of telling and retelling the story. AND, big plus, it is enjoyable to read aloud as an adult!
We asked the ducks themselves and they thought it was a quacking read!
Highly recommend!
