🔢✨ Year 6 Maths in Action!

Our Owls have been learning about powers of 10 using Gattengo charts. They explored the concept practically before applying their understanding to a range of mathematical problems.

A great example of learning through hands-on exploration, discussion and practice! 🌟

To celebrate all of our hard work this week in Nurture Nest our Friday treat was to make waffles- Mrs Russell's favourite food. We worked as a team making sure we all took it in turns to add the ingredients and mix the batter. While the waffles cooked we laid the table for everyone. We chose our toppings and all agreed that the strawberries were the best.

This week, Skylarks put on their scientist hats and became real-life investigators! 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

To learn all about dental hygiene and practical science, the children got hands-on and created their very own toothpaste! They carefully measured out ingredients and tested how well their concoctions worked.

Great job, Year 3! 🦷🧪✨

🍵 Tea Tasting Experts in Year 3! 🍵

Skylarks classroom was transformed into a bustling tea room today as our pupils became official Tea Tasters!

The children had a wonderful time sampling a variety of flavours, including:

🍋 Lemon & Ginger

🍓 Raspberry & Strawberry

🌿 Mint

☕ Classic Yorkshire Tea

We were so impressed by how engaged everyone was and how maturely they discussed the different aromas, ingredients, and flavor profiles. It was a very close vote across all the varieties, but Fruit Tea took the crown as today's overall winner! 🏆

Well done, Year 3—what a brilliant start to our learning! 🌟

A wonderful first week back for our Owls🌟🦉
We've had a fantastic start to the new school year, getting to know each other, settling into our routines and beginning to think about the kind of learners we want to be.
This week, Year 6 has been learning about staying safe in Banbury and how we can make our community safe. We have also been speaking about our Zones of Regulation and creating our own personal toolkits to support us throughout the year! During worship, we've been reflecting on our school values and considering how we can learn, transform and grow this year, not only as pupils but as responsible members of the community.
It's been amazing to see the Owls already showing curiosity, resilience and a willingness to challenge themselves!
