🌟 Wow, our Baby Room has been super busy this week! 🌟

Our babies have been having lots of fun developing their fine motor skills through a variety of sensory and creative experiences. πŸ‘βœ¨

From making marks in our sensory tuff trays and exploring letters and early literacy, to getting creative with autumnal crafts πŸ‚ and discovering the world through their senses, there has been so much to explore!

Our grown-ups have been right alongside the children, modelling, demonstrating and narrating their play, introducing new vocabulary and encouraging curiosity, communication and those all-important early skills. πŸ’¬πŸ‘Ά

Through squeezing, grasping, reaching, touching and mark-making, our babies are strengthening the little muscles in their hands and fingers while learning through play and exploration.

🍁 Busy little hands, curious minds and lots of happy learning! πŸ’›

🌟 WE’VE RECEIVED A 5-STAR RATING! 🌟

Today we had an unannounced Environmental Health Inspection at our Chipping Warden Setting and we are absolutely delighted to share that we received a fantastic 5-star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is an achievement we are incredibly proud of and reflects the high standards we work hard to maintain every single day across our nursery.

Our kitchen plays an important part in caring for our children, and we take great pride in ensuring it is maintained to a high standard while providing the children with healthy, nutritious and balanced meals, freshly cooked in-house each day. πŸ₯¦πŸŽπŸ₯•πŸ½οΈ

A huge well done and thank you to our wonderful team for their continued hard work, attention to detail and commitment to maintaining such high standards. πŸ’š

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars and very proud!

🌧Fun in the Rain🌧

This morning, our Preschool children are thoroughly enjoying their outdoor play experience in the rain.

They are actively observing how the rain increases surface slipperiness and how it effectively washes away chalk drawings from the ground.

A month at Warkworth! What an amazing time we have had so far, take a look below at the exciting activities the children have been taking part in!

🐘 World Elephant Day – The children made their own grey playdough to manipulate and explore alongside our little elephant figures. This was a lovely opportunity to develop fine motor skills, imagination and language through play. Did you know, Elephants tusks never stop growing?!
🐝 World Bee Day – We discovered all about bees and even had the chance to taste some delicious honey on our home made banana ice cream! 🍯 The children then created their own beautiful honeycomb-inspired bee paintings using paint and bubble wrap, exploring colour, patterns and textures.
🌿 Outdoor adventures – Our mud kitchen has been a firm favourite so far! The children have enjoyed mixing, pouring and creating their own wonderful mud kitchen recipes. Inside, we continued our pouring fun using cups and bottles with bright yellow water, developing coordination and exploring capacity. πŸ’§
🎨✏️ Creative learning – We’ve also been busy with mark making and painting, giving the children opportunities to express themselves, experiment with different materials and build confidence in their creativity.
πŸ”’ Number Hunt! – We made our very own numbers 1–5 and then hid them around the room for our friends to find! The children searched high and low, recognising numerals and beginning to notice numbers within their environment. πŸ”Žβœ¨
πŸ“š Sharing stories – And of course, there’s always time to slow down and enjoy a good book together! The children have loved sharing books, listening to stories and talking about the pictures with their friends and adults.

πŸš‚πŸ¦‰ Trains & Owls in the Baby Room! πŸ¦‰πŸš‚

Last week, our older babies worked together to build and explore their very own train track! πŸš‚ The babies took turns fitting the different pieces together with a little support and encouragement from their grown-ups. πŸ₯°

This activity supported lots of important EYFS skills, including fine motor development, problem-solving, turn-taking and working alongside others. 🌟

Meanwhile, our younger babies celebrated Owl Day πŸ¦‰ by getting creative and designing and decorating their very own owls! 🎨 This gave them lots of opportunities to explore different colours, textures and materials, supporting their sensory exploration and creativity.

🚌🦁🐘 PRESCHOOL & TODDLERS’ THEATRE ADVENTURE! 🎭✨

On Friday, some of our Preschool and Toddler children had a very exciting adventure as they headed off to The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury to watch Dear Zoo! πŸ’πŸ¦’πŸ

The excitement started before we even arrived, as the children got to experience travelling by bus 🚌 β€” a wonderful opportunity to explore the wider community, develop their confidence and talk about the different things they could see along the way.

Once we arrived, the children settled down with a little sweet treat and a drink πŸ¬πŸ§ƒ before eagerly waiting for the show to begin!

Having enjoyed Dear Zoo as a familiar story at nursery, it was wonderful to see the children’s faces light up as the book was brought to life on stage. πŸŽπŸ“– They enthusiastically joined in, recalled and recited familiar parts of the story, and watched in awe as the different animals appeared! πŸ˜πŸ¦πŸ’πŸΈ

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and excitement throughout, and we think it’s safe to say that both the children and adults had a joyous time! πŸ₯°β€οΈ

Trips like these provide such valuable learning experiences beyond the nursery environment, supporting the EYFS through:

🌟 Communication & Language – listening, recalling familiar phrases and joining in with the story.
🌟 Literacy – developing a love of books, stories and storytelling.
🌟 Personal, Social & Emotional Development – building confidence when experiencing new places and travelling within the community.
🌟 Understanding the World – exploring the local community and experiencing live theatre.
🌟 Expressive Arts & Design – experiencing storytelling through performance, music, characters and imagination.

What a wonderful experience and some very special memories made together! πŸ₯°πŸŽπŸšŒ

🐯 What a Roarsome Week Our Toddlers Have Had! πŸ§‘πŸ–€

Last week our toddlers have been captivated by the much-loved story The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Through shared story sessions, the children listened attentively, joined in with familiar phrases and enjoyed recalling different parts of the story, helping to build their confidence, language and early literacy skills. πŸ“šβœ¨

The children also explored the fascinating world of tigers, learning about where they live, what they eat and the unique stripes that make every tiger special. This sparked lots of wonderful conversations and encouraged curiosity about the world around them. πŸŒπŸ…

Our budding artists carefully made and decorated their very own tigers using a range of creative materials, expressing their ideas while developing their imagination and creativity. 🎨🧑

The toddlers also practised their scissor control, strengthening their hand muscles and improving their coordination as they carefully cut along lines to create different parts of their tiger crafts. βœ‚οΈ

🌟 Our Babies Have Been Busy Exploring β€œThe Three Little Pigs”! 🐷🏑

This week our babies have immersed themselves in the much-loved story of The Three Little Pigs. Through shared story time, they listened carefully, explored the characters and joined in with repeated phrases, helping to develop their early communication and language skills. πŸ“šβœ¨

To bring the story to life, the children enjoyed a themed sensory tuff tray, where they explored different textures and materials, encouraging curiosity, investigation and imaginative play. 🌾🐷

Our little learners also became architects, designing their very own houses using a variety of craft materials. This creative activity supported their imagination, problem-solving skills and fine motor development as they carefully stuck, placed and decorated their creations. 🏠🎨

To finish the week, the babies used both their gross and fine motor skills to make adorable pig cupcakes! Mixing, stirring, decorating and carefully placing each ingredient helped to strengthen their coordination while introducing early mathematical concepts such as counting and measuring. πŸ§πŸ’•
