Banbridge High School

On Sunday 16th March, the Highflyers took part in the St. Patricks Interschools Showjumping competition at Meadows Equestrian Centre. They were up against some fantastic competition from other schools but proved to be a force to be reckoned with as they came away with a clean win with a combined total time of 92.35 seconds.
The team was Amelia Wheeler who rode twice on Lisnahall Miss Toffee and Midnight Minty, Kathryn Wolfe on Taking Chances and Georgina Cunningham on Canadian Express. The girls rode brilliantly and showed pure grit and determination to take the win. The girls have had a fantastic season of jumping after winning the Winter Interschools Showjumping Competition and are proving to be an unstoppable team.
We can't wait until the next competition.

Year 8 Inter-school Public Speaking Event Final

On Thursday, we hosted our fourth Public Speaking competition in the Belmont Hotel. Six students from Dromore and Banbridge High School competed by presenting their very creative and interesting speeches.

The standard of delivery was fantastic from all students and we are so proud of every contestant. Congratulations to Cara from Dromore High School who was named as the overall champion.

Year 11 Assembly this week as part of their Informed Choices and Healthy Lifestyle Program

Huge congratulations to our 6th Form students Lily and John who have secured a place on the Lions International Youth camps in Italy this summer.
Youth Camps and Exchange (YCE) has programs all around the world and is designed for young people between the ages of 15 and 22 to create and foster a spirit of understanding among peoples of the world. Lily will spend 2 weeks in the stunning province of Padua near Venice, whilst John will be heading off to Tuscany where he will have a fabulous time visiting cities such as Florence and Pisa. What a trip! Che la vita e bella! We look forward to hearing all about it!

Year 8 students have been learning how to do First Aid. We have been doing a sequence of lessons in Life Skills classes where they learn how to approach the casualty, put them into the recovery position and perform CPR.

Congratulations to past pupil Jonny () who has just released his own recipe book. After leaving Banbridge High School Jonny played professional rugby, however, injury led him off the pitch and into the kitchen.

School is closed for St Patrick's Day - Monday 17th March.

David in 12 LHW recently competed in the small bore Interservices final and the News of the World Cup in England. David achieved the 2nd highest score in the competition and helped his team come home with both the Punch Cup for the Interservices final and the News of the World Cup for the highest scoring ACF team.
