Well Done James 🏅

⛷ A Banbridge boy has enjoyed all-Ireland skiing success - at the double!

🥉🥉12-year-old James Corrie secured two bronze medals at the recent Special Olympics Ireland Winter Games in Craigavon.

🌎 The Banbridge High School Year 8 student was one of the youngest taking part and he's now setting his sights on a crack at the world title!

⭐️ Super-proud mum Allie has told Chronicle Sport: "James took up the sport two years ago this week. We'd been on two ski holidays and just happened to find out about the ski club that was so local (at the dry slope in Craigavon).
"Particularly with James having autism, it was great to have a club that was very much interested in learning disabilities, giving opportunities to do sports that other children can do. I only started at the same time as James, the same day was my first day on skis and he's now leaving me miles behind!"

Full story in this week's Chronicle!

Our U16 Girls Rugby team travelled to Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Cookstown along with 16 other very talented teams from the province of Ulster.

Results were:
BHS (5) vs St. Catherine’s (3)
BHS (6) vs Mount Lourdes 2 (0)
BHS (6) vs Mount Lourdes 1 (3)

This left them top of their table and progressing into the quarter finals against a very strong Omagh Academy side. It was a very tight battle right to the very last whistle when Omagh scored the last try to win 4 tries to Banbridge High Schools 3 tries. An outstanding performance from all the girls who conducted themselves perfectly on and off the pitch.

Many thanks to Charlie Farrell from Banbridge RFC who has continued to coach and support our girls this season.

Many thanks to Tyler Ford for his commitment to the girls rugby this season and we would like to wish him well as he travels back to New Zealand for the beginning of the season with his home club.

Player of the day: Brooke Schoenfeldt
Biggest hit: Abigail Anderson
Notable preference: Jodi Smith
