What a fabulous carnival week we have had!
The children made their scarecrow ‘Bob the Biker’, we did our annual well-dressing, and we were very kindly invited to join Toddler group for a party organised by the carnival committee, featuring Little City. We all had a great time, Thankyou so much to Sue, Ann, Fiona, and all of the other volunteers for everything you do for Bamford Carnival

This week we learnt all about tree bumblebees at Breedon Forest School as there was a hive in the bird box. We learnt that male tree bumblebees don’t sting however female ones do and don’t have a barb so can sting many times 🐝
We had fun walking along the new slack line, creating woodland pictures and playing the drum using sticks on the base of this table 🥁

We have made a start on building our bug hotel at Forest School this week, with lots of bugs already having moved in!
The children made some insects of their own at Breedon.
And we had a surprise visit from a staff members new puppy 🐶

Day 3: Which peg works best?

We looked at the different materials the pegs were made from and how they grip. The children then pegged up some socks before predicting how many bricks they could get in their sock before they fell off….

We can confirm the yellow plastic peg was a clear winner!

Day 2 of Science Week, with the question: What happens when crayons get warm?
This activity sparked lots of curiosity, questions and predictions.
The children broke up some wax crayons and placed them into moulds before they were warmed up. The children were very excited to see the changes and that they had created their own unique wax crayons

Science Week is here! We love taking part in Science Week each year, this year’s theme is ‘Curiosity: What’s Your Question?’

Our Day 1 Activity was: Where did dinosaurs live?

The children looked at different dinosaurs and considered what their environment may have looked like before creating their own dinosaur habitat. The children decided that the dinosaurs would have needed trees to eat, water to drink and lots of mud! 🦖🦕

We are taking part in The Big Garden Birdwatch, we have been learning all about birds this week ahead of our weekend birdwatching.
Lots of bird activities this week, including clay birds and muddy bird feeders! 🪶🪺🐦‍⬛🐦

A huge thank you to The Belles of St Henry’s, for their wonderful generous donation to Bamford Preschool. The children are very excited to be able to buy some new toys and resources ❤️ Thanks Georgie Hodgson for coming to see us and bringing the donation 😊

Our Bag2School collection is on FRIDAY 14th NOVEMBER. Please see the list below for what donations the company will accept. Bags can be dropped at the Preschool gate before 9am on Friday 14th November. Thank you for helping to raise funds for Bamford Preschool 🙂
