Anne’s dates back to the early Victorian period and is situated about 5 miles from Millfield in the pleasant Somerset village of Baltonsborough. It was originally a nunnery school and the old part of the House still includes a number of the original dormitories. There have been considerable additions since, most notably an extension with a number of purpose built, single and double dormitories. We
can now house up to 50 boarders from 13 to 18 years of age in single, double and triple bedrooms. Anne’s enjoys a number of the associated benefits. Boys enjoy the fact that they have the opportunity to ‘go home’ after a busy day at school. We also enjoy our own grounds and facilities which are for the sole use of the boys in the House. Anne’s dine in House for five out of the seven days each week, enabling good friendships to be made and a strong sense of House identity to be fostered. Our House Colours are navy with a white stripe, and we are joined, on occasions, with Joan’s Kitchen (boys) and Kernick (girls) Houses for House competitions. FACILITIES
The House is fortunate in having considerable on-site facilities for the boys including:
Senior and Junior common rooms with TV, Sky TV, Apple TV & DVD, together with a small kitchen for boys’ snacks. Three desktop PCs linked to the school network, in addition to Wi-fi throughout the House. A pool table, table tennis table and table-football. A gym with a ‘multigym’, treadmill, indoor rower, cross-trainer and a range of free weights with two benches for resistance work. A floodlit hard-court which provides for basketball, tennis and 5 a-side football. A large ‘top’ field with soccer goals. A BBQ garden where we have a badminton net in the summer. A croquet lawn in the summer
