The winner: the tallest sunflower on Friday 19th June.

⭐️⭐️Speech and Drama success⭐️⭐️

We are so proud of all our pupils who represented our school so wonderfully at Coleraine Speech and Drama Festival. You all spoke with so much confidence, enthusiasm and expression and you should all be very proud.

Amongst our achievements, we had 2 1st places, 4 2nd places, 5 3rd places and 6 Highly Commended.

Very well done to all of our fantastic children and thank you to our wonderful parents for transporting the children to and from the festival.

Our Year Sevens looking very smart in their new hoodies. Our PTA work very hard and kindly purchase these items every year for the children. Special thanks also to Mrs Morrison who works hard to source and order the hoodies for the children.

The boys and girls in school, have been busy in “After-School Art Club,” these past few weeks creating fruit bowls from paper mache. They are looking forward to taking their finished pieces home next week. Great work everyone!

📚 World Book Day in School 📚

We had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day! The children enjoyed lots of activities linked to reading. It was wonderful to see so many brilliant costumes around the school.

Primary Four and Five continue to be completely fascinated by our World War Two topic.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been stepping back in time and imagining what life might have been like for an evacuee. We took our learning one step further as the children carried out an interview with an evacuee named William Baker, generated using Artificial Intelligence.

The class worked brilliantly in groups to brainstorm thoughtful questions. There were so many fantastic ideas! After voting for their favourites, we put the questions to our AI-generated evacuee and absolutely loved discovering key information about his journey, his feelings and what life was like during wartime.

It really is incredible to think how quickly technology is changing. At Carrowreagh, we are doing our very best to keep up and use it meaningfully, so that our children are prepared for later life in a rapidly changing world. 🌍
