Is your child starting pre-school or primary school this September? 🎒

There are lots of simple ways you can help your child feel ready and confident for starting school.

💬 Talk together about what their new school or setting might be like before they start. This can help ease worries and build excitement.

📖 Why not visit your local library and let your child choose a book that interests them? Sharing stories together helps children feel content, secure and confident, while also supporting important language and communication skills.

Remember, you don't have to read every word! Looking at the pictures, talking about the story and asking questions are all great ways to enjoy books together.

Are you ready for September?

Apply now for Free School Meals and Uniform Allowance for the upcoming academic year.

👉 Apply now on EA Connect: https://connect.eani.org.uk/parent/login

Please note, as well as new applicants, parents/carers of children who are currently in receipt of Free School Meals and Uniform Allowance will need to apply again for the 2026/27 school year.

If you don’t already have an EA Connect account, you will need to set one up. This is quick and easy to do, and there is lots of helpful information available on www.eani.org.uk/fsm to show you how.

You will also find details on eligibility and the supporting documentation you will need to upload when making your application.

If you are in receipt of one of the following, you will need to upload a Proof of Benefit letter when applying for Free School Meals and Uniform Allowance for the 2026/27 academic year:

➡️ Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
➡️ Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit

You can request a Proof of Benefit letter online: https://t.co/vhcVyDRoi5 (It will take at least five days to be sent to you)

If you receive Universal Credit, you do not need the Proof of Benefit Letter. However, you will need to upload evidence of your Universal Credit entitlement when you apply.

Today we celebrated our wonderful P7 leavers at their assembly. 🎓💛

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and all they have achieved during their time at the William Pinkerton. As they prepare to begin an exciting new chapter, we wish them every blessing, happiness and success for the future.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter and the contribution you have made to our school community. We will miss you all very much!

P1-3 enjoyed a fantastic day at Rosepark Farm, Ballymoney, where they had the opportunity to meet and learn about a variety of farm animals, explore nature trails, and take part in outdoor activities.

The visit provided valuable hands-on learning experiences, helping children develop their understanding of animals, farming, and the natural environment while having lots of fun with their classmates.

It was a wonderful day of learning, exploration, and memorable experiences for everyone involved. 🌿🐑🚜
