🧪 Year 10 Biology – Core Assessment Practical 🔬

Our Year 10 Biology students have been busy investigating the energy content of different types of crisps! 🥔🔥

Working in pairs, the students successfully set up their equipment and carried out the practical investigation, carefully measuring and comparing the energy released.

They then completed the written section of their assessment individually, demonstrating their understanding of the investigation and their ability to record and analyse their findings.

Fantastic teamwork, focus and effort from everyone! 👏 Well done, Year 10! 🌟

📚 Year 10 English – Hot Seating! 🎭

Our Year 10 English students have been bringing their class novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, to life through a fantastic ‘Hot Seat’ activity!

Working together in groups, one student took on the role of a character from the novel and stepped into the ‘hot seat’, while their classmates challenged them with questions about their character, thoughts, feelings and experiences.

It was brilliant to see the students supporting and encouraging one another throughout the activity. 👏

Not only did this help deepen their understanding of the characters and the novel, but it also gave them a fantastic opportunity to develop their public speaking skills, confidence and ability to think on their feet.

Well done, Year 10! 🌟📖

💚 World Mental Health Day 2026 💚

It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to talk.

💛 Take Notice – Pause and appreciate the little things.

💜 Keep Learning – Try something new.

💚 Give – Share kindness and support others.

What a way to begin the Sixth Form journey. ✨

As we return from our Year 13 Residential at Corrymeela, we are proud of how our students embraced every opportunity to build new friendships, strengthen teamwork skills and explore what it means to be part of an integrated school community.

Through challenge, conversation and collaboration, our students reflected on our shared values of community, respect and understanding, laying strong foundations for the year ahead. We are excited for the year ahead!
