We would like to say a huge thank you to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland for their generous donation and continued funding support of the Northern Counties Fiddle Society 🎻
Their support makes a real difference to all the young people in our school, helping us provide high-quality teaching in traditional Irish and Scottish music. Just as importantly, it strengthens the cross-community work at the heart of what we do — bringing children and families together through a shared love of music, friendship and culture.
We are especially passionate about promoting our own County and fiddle style, preserving its unique character and passing it on to the next generation. It means so much to us that children from all communities have the opportunity to learn and play — not only the rich traditions of Irish and Scottish music, but also the distinctive local style that is part of our shared heritage. Keeping these traditions alive and accessible to everyone is central to our mission.
We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our young musicians and in our wider community.
And if you’ve ever thought about learning the fiddle — or know a child who would love to give it a go — why not come along and join us? There’s nothing quite like the experience of learning traditional music in a welcoming, supportive group. We’d love to see some new faces! 🎶
Johnny.
