I'm a writer, first and foremost, and like a lot of neurodivergent authors on here I'm really stressed by how little engagement my new book posts get. It seems Facebook specifically restricts posts about them (no idea why).
My book comes out in just over two weeks and I'm worried pre-orders haven't been great. This means real bookshops like Waterstones won't stock the book. It's so bloody stressful.
If anyone following is interested in the subject of education for autistic students in schools, then please consider a Pre-order. It's available in physical book, audiobook and e-book.
Each chapter focuses on an aspect of school life, and how autistic children might struggle with it. It aims to help parents and teachers understand what their children need. It goes over sensory differences, PDA, alexithymia, RSD, monotropism, communication differences and lots more, all linked to the central concept of the Double Empathy Problem.
The whole book challenges the education system itself, arguing it is a relic of the Victorian era and still has systemic ableism at its core.
Thanks everyone
