We’re incredibly proud of Year 10 pupil Xander and Year 12 pupil Ruby, who represented Ballyclare High School this summer as members of the National Children’s Concert Band 🎶

Bringing together almost 100 young musicians from across the country, the course offered Xander and Ruby the opportunity to spend three intensive days at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, working with professional conductors and composers and tackling an ambitious programme of traditional and contemporary wind band music.

Their hard work culminated in a public concert at the prestigious Stoller Hall, where they performed alongside some of the country’s most talented young musicians.

Well done, Xander and Ruby! 👏

Starting somewhere new is always a little easier when you have someone in your corner ♥️💙

Our Form Class Buddies have been helping our youngest pupils settle into the new school year, offering a friendly face, answering questions and helping them find their way around school.

We’re incredibly proud of the way our pupils look out for one another.

A big thank you to all our Year 8, Year 9 and HUB Buddies for helping our youngest pupils feel welcome and part of our school community.

Today’s announcement by the Minister for Education marks an exciting moment for our school community, as our long-held ambition for a new school build moves forward once again, with the planning and design process commencing immediately.

Principal Dr Michelle Rainey said:

“As Principal, I am thrilled by the Minister’s announcement of a new school build. This is a significant milestone for our school community and the culmination of considerable work and determination to shape the conversations around the future of education provision in Ballyclare.

Through the Minister’s foresight, a long-held ambition is now moving towards becoming a reality! His announcement heralds much-needed new accommodation for our pupils, and the commitment to new accommodation across a number of local schools undoubtedly affords a golden opportunity to provide top-quality educational provision in Ballyclare that will serve many generations of pupils to come.

While we look firmly to the future with great excitement for what’s to come, we remain equally ambitious for the pupils in front of us today. We are committed to ensuring that our current pupils benefit from the very best environment possible, with continued investment in our existing facilities reflecting the high expectations and ambitions we have for each and every one of our young people.”
