My name is Katherine John and I'm a fully qualified teacher, with over 20 years classroom experience and an enhanced DBS check. I offer interactive and engaging 1:1 tutoring in phonics, reading, spelling, writing and maths. I work with children from Reception to Year 9, supporting them in

Maths and English, and I also offer tutoring for GCSE Maths (Foundation paper).

1:1 Tutoring Sessions
My most popular session length is 30 minutes (£25). This slot fits flexibly after school and is ideal for many children to maintain focus and maximise learning time efficiently. For those who prefer a slightly longer session, I also offer 45 minutes (£35). Weekly Lesson Reports
One of the great benefits of 1:1 tutoring is that your child receives immediate feedback on their understanding. Parents receive a feedback email after each session to stay updated on their child's progress. Session Details and Technology
Sessions are conducted via Zoom with a high-quality camera and microphone, ensuring children can see and hear me clearly. I also use BitPaper, an interactive whiteboard that is excellent for demonstrating methods for answering questions and easy for children to write on and collaborate with. Requirements for All Sessions
A device with a screen, camera, and microphone (ideally a computer, laptop or tablet)

It’s one of the most common questions children ask when converting metric units!

Once children understand the relationship between the units, rather than simply trying to remember a rule, it can start to feel much easier. 😊

Missing number problems can be challenging, especially when children need to work out which operation to use or use the inverse operation to find the answer.
