πŸŽ‰πŸ’œ Little Minds is 4 today! πŸ’œπŸŽ‰
Four years ago, Little Minds opened it's doors, and I don’t think we could ever have imagined quite what it would grow into.

From those early days to the busy, happy nursery we are today, it has been an incredible four years filled with laughter, learning, friendships, challenges, achievements and more memories than we could ever count.

A huge thank you to every family, past and present, who has trusted us with their little people. Whether you have been with us for a few months, several years, or your child has long since headed off to big school, you have all been part of the Little Minds story. Watching your children grow, learn and find their confidence has been an absolute privilege and honour.

And, of course, the biggest thank you to our amazing Little Minds team β€” past and present. A nursery is only ever as special as the people inside it, and Little Minds simply wouldn't be what it is today without the people who have poured their time, energy, ideas, patience and enormous hearts into it. πŸ’œ

We are incredibly proud of how far Little Minds has come in four years, but even more excited about everything still ahead of us. Here's to the next chapter, the families we've yet to meet, the children whose stories we'll get to be part of, and plenty more laughter and memories along the way. πŸ₯‚πŸŽ‚

Happy 4th Birthday, Little Minds!

Mini Explorers ia back! After a long summer holidays mini explorers is finally back. The children have been using the mud kitchen all summer for lots of different activities, but today we had our first proper mini explorers session again!
Of course the first thing they wanted to do was make mud teas, cakes and pies.β˜•οΈπŸ§ They splashed in the water and used cups and teapots to transport the water.πŸ«– They took turns pouring and holding the pots which was so lovely to see. 😊
We was also lucky enough to spot the farmer ploughing the fields, he seen us so slowed down to wave back! 🚜

Our forest school 🌳
At Little Minds, we offer a Forest School session for our preschool children on Tuesday and Thursdays. We thought it would be nice to share where the children go. We are very lucky that a private property just up the road from us let us use their gardens and forest.
In preparation for our forest school, our younger children take part in tiny explorers (0-2s) and mini explorers (2-3s), as well as our Pre-forest sessions within the nursery garden and local environment as well.πŸ’œπŸ’œ

We are excited to introduce our next preschool cohort to the forest 🌳

This week in the Meadow room we have been thinking about the children's interests! We have left everything upto the children, what they wanted to do each day, what activities they'd like us to get ready, and letting them make decisions themselves. We've had tractors and cars, animal crafts, and superhereo dress up. πŸšœπŸžπŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦ΈπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ
We have gone to the park, spent lots of time in the garden, and had many dance parties. The children have taken phone calls whilst sipping their tea, made chocolate crunch, and transported bubbles using our science equipment. 🫧
Our dance parties have been long and full of fun, with ribbons and flashing lights. We even got out the softplay and tents! They were bouncing on the trampoline, climbing on the softplay, then bouncing on our new bunny space hopper. 🐰

We do not get to advertise spaces very often… but for September 2026, we have a small number of spaces becoming available in our beautiful Blossom Room for babies aged 9 months–2 years.

Our Blossom Room provides a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where our youngest children can explore, play, develop and build those all-important first relationships β€” supported by our experienced and passionate Little Minds team.

Spaces available from September 2026
For children aged 9 months–2 years
All-year-round and term-time options available
Flexible sessions
Funded hours can be used for eligible children from 9 months

Availability is very limited, and with Little Minds normally operating at capacity, we would recommend getting in touch sooner rather than later if you are considering a place.

Come and have a look around, meet our team and see what makes Little Minds special. πŸ’œπŸ–€

This week we have been looking at summer stories! We've had lots of fun reading all of the stories and doing activities to go along with them. We've had tuff trays about saving the whale from "Snail and the Whale", finding "A good place" for our bugs to live, and exploring the habitats of the animals from "Dear Zoo".🐌πŸͺ²πŸ
Some of the stories we've read have made us create lots of fun crafts! We have made ladybirds from "What the ladybird heard and the seaside", and bees from "Superworm".🐞πŸͺ± We even baked biscuits for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"! πŸ›
In our home corner the children had a picnic with "The tiger that came to tea", and helped the bugs save "Superworm" using our amazing masks to disguise themselves from the wizard lizard! 🐝🐜

To follow on form our topic of holidays we decided to look at ice creams this week! There were so many amazing tuff trays, with shaving foam, cloud dough, pompoms, and more. The children were scooping and transporting their 'ice cream' from tubs, adding 'sprinkles' and they even got to pick a sauce for on top. 🍨
At the beginning of our week we used greek yogurt and lollies sticks to make our own ice creams, the children had lots of toppings to choose from, and later enjoyed these for afternoon snack. For our home corner the children took turns serving and eating ice creams and ice lollies! 🍦😊

This week in the blossom room we are following the children's interest in the outdoors. We have been focusing on different crops like vegetables, flowers and herbs.

We have explored lots of different trays where we dig up vegetables, plant flowers and smell the aromas of different herbs. We also picked some chives from our herb garden and baked them into a yummy bread and used flowers as paint brushes when mark making.

We've read stories about seasides and mountains, played with sensory sand playdough, and found the story of Paddington bear's trip to London in our tuff tray! πŸ»πŸ–πŸžThe children have especially enjoyed our crafts this week, they used coloured sand to create thier own sandcastles, mixed glitter paint to decorate seashells, and even baked some sunshine cupcakes! πŸšπŸ§β˜€οΈ
