❗️A polite reminder that we do have a 48 hour cancellation policy.

It has been especially hard keeping track of group numbers and absences over the holidays. Please ensure that if you are unable to attend your regular lesson due to going away on holiday or a prior commitment, that you give us as much notice as possible (ideally one week) and do not drop it upon us at the last minute. We always ask that if more than one week’s notice is given, that we are reminded one week prior to your absence as it is incredibly difficult to remember what everyone is doing individually. We generally run the diary one week in advance for group lessons so this time frame is ideal for us to work with.

In order to amalgamate and rearrange group lessons we need time. This is to allow other’s to change their plans if necessary and for us to plan accordingly in terms of staffing, ponies, matching abilities etc etc.

If less than 48 hours notice is given, the lesson is liable for full payment. Unfortunately we still have staff wages to pay, ponies to feed and care for, the list goes on regardless.

Each day is planned with the precision of a space launch, all we ask is that you help us to keep things running as smoothly and easily as possible for everyone’s benefit including our ponies welfare. 🫶🏻

Thank goodness the weather held up for Team Showjumping last night! 😮‍💨 The same cannot be said for our sanity! 👇🏻

Team Showjumping takes A LOT of organising and preparation both on the days leading up to the event and on the night. We have to work out a drawn order at the very latest the beginning of the week to ascertain who is riding which pony, jumping which round, have the ponies got an equal amount of rounds on, will the drawn order work in order for our ponies to have a break in between rounds and to keep everyone moving in terms of mounting, jumping and dismounting. We then have to design a course plan, build the course on a Thursday evening after lessons finish (which is no easy task) and then finally transport everything that is needed up to the field such as; benches, barriers, mounting blocks, whips, clipboards, chairs etc, etc. To then get the ponies ready and tacked up on time to be in the field ready to start jumping at 5pm. When we finish, all of the above needs to be transported back down to the yard, the ponies need to be untacked, made comfortable, fed and turned out which takes another hour at least afterwards before we head home and start planning Saturday’s lessons.

Yes, it is our decision to run this event and we do what we do because we love the horses and we love what we do. Ultimately this event is about allowing our riders the opportunity to experience competition on a friendly, unpressurised basis whilst gaining in experience, confidence and building friendships and support networks. It is not about money or profit, it is purely designed to benefit those taking part. ❤️

Yesterday evening it took us longer to jump 1/2 - 3/4 of our usual entries because people hadn’t shown up or didn’t let us know with enough notice for us to amend the drawn orders properly. By round 3, it was causing serious issues with team numbers, scoring and organisation. It was a major struggle for myself, Linda and our volunteers to keep up with what was going on. At the beginning of the year (early May) we posted this years dates and these haven’t changed since. We always post prior to each month in plenty of time asking to be given notice if you are not attending. This month we have had over 6 cancellations/ no shows within 48 hours plus more slightly outside of this time frame.

Not only is it frustrating for ourselves but it is equally frustrating for fellow team members who are having to rearrange their scoring and jump extra rounds in order to make up for those who are not in attendance. Everyone will receive a rosette at the season finale in September (the winners will also take home the trophy). For some team members who have been in attendance each month it will be frustrating to see that those who have only contributed once or twice at most to their teams score have earned the same as those who have given their all at each event. Our Team Showjumping rosette’s are specially designed and cost considerably more than our usual rosette’s. For those who are paying monthly and haven’t attended regularly, it will barely cover the cost of this rosette.

Team Showjumping is not a glorified Clear Round in which you can come and attend when you choose to. If you signed up, you signed up for the year, to the dates that were advertised and to support and jump for your assigned team. We appreciate that unforeseen circumstances, injuries and illness exist but the majority of our problems this year have been due to poor planning and lack of team spirit regarding this event. Planned holidays are fine and a fact of life but we need to be able to plan too!

On a much more positive note, we would like to say a big thank you to those of you who stayed on to support one another despite it being such a long evening and not particularly warm! Your tenacity and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. This event and our day to day wouldn’t be possible without the help of our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to support those riding and to care for our amazing ponies. We must never take them for granted.

We saw some really good rounds again over what proved to be a challenging course. The scores have changed since we last posted them at the beginning of July. We will update the scoreboard and post them on here once we have finalised them.

I hate to rant but it was very much needed after last night in the hope that it may put things in perspective regarding this event.

Much love, Niki. 🫶🏻

Wow, wow, wow. What a blast we had on our Summer Super Hack last week! 🤩 5 hours and 20 minutes in the saddle!

Multiple pit stops for snacking and hydration breaks for both horses and riders, lots of great blasts across open fields and even some cheeky jumping along the way. 🤪

The weather was beautiful, the ponies were angelic as always and a great time was had by everyone. We never want summer to end! ☀️🐴

Friday’s drawn order for Team Showjumping. 👇🏻

❗️Please ensure that you transfer your entry fee before 12pm tomorrow. We do not appreciate having to chase for payment.

The course will be available to walk from 4.30pm. Please go straight up to the jumping field and ensure you have everything with you ready to ride. Jumping will start at 5pm prompt.

⚠️ A correctly fitted body protector that meets current standards must be worn or you will not be allowed to jump!

Remember that this is a team event and you are expected to stay and cheer on your team mates! Please do not jump your round and leave.

See you all on Friday. 😀

❗️Regrettably we will have to postpone tonight’s Clear Round Showjumping to next Wednesday (the 26th). ☹️

Upon our second inspection of the ground, we do not feel it is safe or suitable for this evening. Rider & horse welfare and health and safety will always be our first priority and it is simply not worth the risk of slipping.

All entries and entry fees will be carried over to next Wednesday (the 26th of August). Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend.

No missing out, we will just have to wait a little longer. Thank you for your understanding. ❤️🐴

19/08/2026

❗️Due to the severity of today’s rain, we will be making a decision on the ground conditions for tonight’s Clear Round Showjumping around 3.30pm.

We will post an update on here. 👍🏻
