In Twinkle Town, every house sparkles and rooftops shine—except for one. When single dark doorway threatens their perfect glow, the townsfolk hang the Sprout of Shame in protest. But soon, they learn that true Christmas spirit shines brightest through kindness and community.

🎶 Packed with catchy songs, playful rhymes and gentle audience interaction, Sprouts is a joyful, sensory festive experience from award-winning songwriter and theatre maker John Kielty.

💚 What takes you down Memory Lane?

Maybe it's a favourite that takes you straight back. 🎵

An old photograph that starts a story. 📷

🍪 The smell of something cooking.

A garden you remember form childhood. 🍂

A holiday, a dance, a football match… or simply a cuppa and a blether with someone who makes you smile. ☕🥰

Sometimes the smallest things can bring back the biggest memories.

So today we'd love to know…

What takes YOU down Memory Lane?

Pop it in the comments - we'd love to hear yours.

Costume Week ended in brilliant style with our 12–15 year olds!
Starting with a fun, silly challenge game (with staff bravely joining in!), the energy was high right from the start—beautifully captured by our visiting professional photographer.

The group then dove into the costume box, trying out multiple characters and experimenting with different looks and ideas. From there, they used props to create their own individual stories, bringing their favourite characters to life in imaginative and expressive ways.

So much creativity, confidence and personality on show—a fantastic finale to Costume Week at our autistic drama sessions in Gaiety 2!

This pilot program of autistic drama classes is supported by the Boshier Grant Scheme administered by the National Autistic Society.

🌿 Something exciting is growing at Memory Lane…

Later this month, we're taking Memory Lane Café somewhere a little different.

On Thursday 29th October, we'll be heading to The Bothy at River Garden, Auchincruive for our October café.💚

It's part of a lovely new partnership that gives us the opportunity to take Memory Lane beyond Gaiety 2 and explore new surroundings and experiences together.

Our October session is already fully booked, but we'll be sharing more about our plans for the afternoon over the next couple of weeks.

Memory Lane is going places… and this time we're heading to River Garden. 🌿💚

After a year of Ayr Gaiety Theatre’s Young Start Ayr North project, we’re super excited to launch our first of 3 creative drama resource for children and their teachers. This resource was made in collaboration with the children from Braehead Primary School Drama club. Full of games and workshops, as well as videos, photos and illustrations, this resource provides hours of creative ideas for children and their teachers to explore 🎭

🌟Teachers - this resource is available on our website and free to use! Find the link here: https://thegaiety.co.uk/create-and-participate/young-start-ayr-north/ 🌟

This creative drama resource was created by Florence Logan from Ayr Gaiety Theatre’s Creative Engagement team and the Braehead Primary School Drama club, designed by Cat Major, and co-ordinated by The Gaiety’s Marketing & Communications department. This project was part of the Gaiety’s Young Start Ayr North project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. All photos and videos were captured and edited by Ruari Barber-Fleming.
