A fun local activity for any families looking for something to do this weekend!

You are warmly welcome to join us at this year’s Lantern Walk on 9th November 4-6.30pm🌙✨🌳🍂🐾

A seasonal celebration for all the family 💚

The lantern walk provides an opportunity for us to come together for a seasonal celebration, enjoy the magic of lantern light as we prepare ourselves for the cold days and long nights of Winter. The lantern is a symbol of each person’s inner light that they will carry with them into the winter months.

Beginning with seasonal games for all the family to enjoy under the guidance of our Forest School Leaders in the meadow. We will then light our handmade lanterns and form a procession as we take a short walk through the beautiful woodland. Participants will be encouraged to sing and join in the lantern walk songs. We will then gather around the campfire. We will symbolically show our own generosity with live music and singing by musician Ken O'Hara and the sharing of a campfire snack of vegetable soup and cake.

During the Little Acorn’s regular groups in the preceding week we will be making our own lanterns which will then be used for our Lantern Walk. For those not attending sessions we will send out a tutorial for making your own lantern and song sheet.

Happy world piano day! The 88th day of the year.

So we are now two weeks into the term. New songs have been chosen, goals have been set and our new classes are filling up.
We have also had one broken piano (which I fixed eventually!) and a broken door handle (should be fixed soon) 🙈
But the highlight of the week was definitely a home baked cupcake from a pupil. Thanks Hannah! 🙂🥰

New beginner classes starting next Tuesday. 3.30-4.15 for P3/4 and 5.45-6.30 for P5/6. These were opened up to our waiting list yesterday and so we only have a couple of spaces in both classes. Get in touch to book or to ask any questions. 🙂

Starting next week we have a new Christmas piano course. This is suitable for beginners who would like to try out piano or those who maybe have a little bit of experience and would like to learn some Christmas tunes to add to their collection.
The 6 week course costs £70.
There are two classes available:
Monday 6-6.45pm Ages 11-13
Friday 6.15-7pm Ages 7-10

We get to give out lots of certificates this week that arrived over the summer from exams taken before the break. Well done to all!

Hope everyone has a fantastic first day back at school, especially to all our preschoolers from last year who have started P1!
I can’t wait to hear how the summers have been. Today I’m back teaching and the printers been going all morning getting lots of new music ready.

Today I get to introduce our new teacher Adele. Adele and I have been friends a long time and trained as music teachers together at university. She is a music teacher, runs fabulous Acorns baby and toddler classes in Alloway and is now teaching here on a Friday.
Such a treat to work with a friend. 🙂

New beginner piano class starting next Thursday for ages 10/12 at 3.30-4.15.
A 45 minute class where we will learn how to play along to all your favourite songs.
£35.50 a month

We are so close to starting back, with students in the studio as of Friday! Today I went in to do a good clean and sort out. It’s looking ready 🙂
