A lovely piece of work by one of our young artists, 6 year old Kallan Paterson, who has captured the Eiffel Tower with lots of detail and care. ⭐

We particularly love the way Kallan has used perspective in the trees. As the trees get further away, they become smaller, helping to create a real sense of depth and distance within the drawing. 🖌🎨

It’s these little details that can make such a difference to a piece of artwork, and it’s wonderful to see our students developing their skills and understanding as they learn.

✨ MEET OUR STALL HOLDERS ✨

We’re delighted to introduce you to some of the lovely local businesses who will be joining us at The Little Art School Charity Ladies Day at the Lochgreen House Hotel on Saturday 24th October. 💛

First up is Leona Stewart Leaded Glass, a talented glass artist based in Ayr. 🎨✨

Leona creates beautiful bespoke leaded glass pieces to commission, including window panels, doors, mirrors and lights, each one carefully designed and handmade.

We’re so pleased to have Leona joining us for Ladies Day, and we can’t wait for our guests to see her beautiful gifts for themselves.

There will be lots of lovely local businesses to browse on the day, making it a perfect opportunity to discover something special while supporting small businesses and raising money for The Little Art School Charity. 💛

🎨 This September the Little Art School Charity is visiting the Carrick Centre in Maybole for a very special pop up 'Minions & Monsters' Workshop.

⭐ Monday 21st September
⭐ 12.30 to 2.30
⭐ 2 hours of Minion art fun.

🎨 Students will be guided by our teachers through the stages of a painting inspired by the brand new Minions movie, starting with the basic shapes and gently building up the drawing and painting, learning new skills and techniques along the way.

🩵 And the best bit? All the profits from this special workshop go to our community classes, bringing art sessions to people living with dementia and children who need us; art fun AND a good cause!

Our Arts, Art in a Suitcase class at Templehouse Care Home painted these colourful fruits. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and putting their own twist on the paintings.

Another enjoyable afternoon of art, conversation and creativity. 🎨🖌

All profits from our children’s art classes and adult online courses go straight back into our wonderful dementia charity, providing art classes in the community for people living with dementia 💜

Join us at the Lochgreen House Hotel in Troon for a proper day out.

Your day will include a delicious lunch. A live band. Lovely stalls. An art activity. An auction and a raffle!

Cost for tickets are £65 for an individual ticket or £600 for a table of ten, which works out at £60 each.

The best bit... Every ticket funds our free art sessions for people living with dementia and for children facing disadvantage.

This September welcome the new season with a gift to yourself. Learn to draw and paint with us; in your own time and at your own pace and with all your art materials included in the course cost. Our Online Drawing and Painting Course for adults has been especially designed for people who have always wanted to learn to draw and paint but didn't know where to start.

We have people learning with us who haven't picked up a pencil to draw since they left school, sometimes 40 or 50 years earlier; people who thought they really couldn't draw and people who loved art but just stopped drawing and painting when life got in the way. Our course is designed for all of them; structured, progressive and with all the materials you need: paint, brushes, pencils, a drawing board and much, much more. And the wonderful bit? We're a charity and all the profits from our Online Course go to help us to deliver free art classes to people living with dementia and to vulnerable children in our communities. In the last 12 months we have delivered 5,000 free art sessions and brought so much joy.

This wonderful drawing is by 13 year old Eva Fowler 🎨🩵

Eva attends our Level 3 class where our artists are currently studying the face, and this lesson has taken them right back to basics with a study of the skull. This is a great exercise in looking at shape, structure and proportion, and a lovely piece of work from Eva. We’re looking forward to seeing how this understanding develops as they move on to the features of the face. Excellent work Eva! 🖌⭐

This wonderful painting is by 10 year old Frida Forsell 🎨⭐

Frida attends our Foundation Course class where they are enjoying painting the subject 'The History of the World'. We’re enjoying seeing our students explore different places and styles through their artwork and we loved Frida's Egyptian inspired painting. This painting was created using watercolour paints and is a lovely example of how much detail and character can be achieved with the medium. Excellent work Frida!

There is something very different about The Little Art School and the way we teach. The driving force behind everything we do is to build children's self-esteem. We have developed a 'scaffolded' teaching method that works for every child and we teach in a quiet, encouraging way that is fun, joyful and helps with confidence. We have been doing this for 12 years and have taken 5 year olds from simple shapes and watched them become teenagers painting complex paintings in oils. We use high quality art materials, however young the child is, which really helps to build pride in work. Our course is structured and progressive.

We are a charity. That means all the profits from our children's classes go to help us deliver over 5,000 free art sessions a year to those who need us most; from people living with dementia to children who might otherwise never have access to an art class.
