Meet Saffy the giraffe..the next BIG thing in children's music classes. These fun classes have a different theme every week with each 45-minute session packed with songs, dancing, props, toys and instruments (mostly basic percussion such as bells, drums, tambourines, etc)
Classes are divided into three age groups.. babies (usually from around 12 weeks until walking), under-2s (walking to 2 years)
and over-2s (up to four years). As well as lots of fun and encouraging social interaction - for mums, dads, grandparents or whoever brings your little one - the classes help develop speech and co-ordination and increase independence and self-confidence. We use lots of different songs - from familiar nursery rhymes to more modern tunes - with the added bonus of learning basic signing which many of the youngsters are encouraged to learn when they move on to nursery. About me...I have been running music classes for babies and toddlers in Ayr, Kilmarnock and Troon for the past seven years and also have experience of working with children who have special educational needs, both in my classes and in weekly visits to Southcraig School in Ayr.
