Our Queen Margaret Academy pupils had a fantastic day at the Ayrshire Singing Day 2026, joining young singers from across Ayrshire for a day full of singing, learning and making music together.

We can’t wait to hear them perform in October!

What a busy first week back in the music dept!

S1 have started their taster courses on classroom instruments and have made an amazing start! It has also been lovely to see our pupils help and support others in the class!

S2 have been continuing their Instrument 1.

S3 started their waltz composition and two instruments.

Our senior classes have made a start to their composition, listening and two instruments.

Our instrumental instructors have welcomed back their pupils too!

As well as classes, our choir, Wind Band and Feel Good Friday started back too!

A busy week in the department but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

🎶 Welcome back everyone! 🎶

We are looking forward to welcoming pupils back to our authority music ensembles programme, as well as meeting many new young musicians🤩🎶

🎼 Taking part in our ensembles helps build confidence, friendships, teamwork, and musicianship, while providing memorable performance experiences throughout the year.

If you're interested in joining one of our ensembles or would like to find out more, speak to your Instrumental Music Instructor or school music teacher or e-mail [email protected]. Your instructor will give you a letter with details of the group/s suitable for you! 👏🎶

Whether you play woodwind, brass, strings, percussion, guitar, bagpipes, or sing, there are many opportunities to develop your musical skills, perform with others, and be part of a supportive musical community.

Parent/Carers - please register your child using the link below.

🎶🤩We can't wait to get started in the 2026/27 season!🤩🎶

Great to be back seeing our young people and meeting our new S1 pupils

🌟 WELCOME BACK TEAM QMA! 🌟

Summers over and it’s time to open our doors and welcome back our amazing QMA community!

A special welcome to our new S1 pupils, new staff and everyone returning for another exciting year at Queen Margaret Academy.

We ask all pupils to return to school in full school uniform, looking smart and ready for the new school year.

🌟 NEW S1 INFORMATION 🌟

We look forward to welcoming our new S1s tomorrow! Pupils should meet in the playground area outside the canteen, where they will enter the school at 845am.

The front of the school is for buses and ASN transport only. All other pick-ups and drop-offs should take place in the main car park or the local community. Please help us keep this area clear and safe.

Let’s continue to be guided by our QMA values of Community, Respect, Ambition, Responsibility, Equity and Faith and make this a year to remember!

It’s been lovely to be back, seeing old and new faces in the department ☺️

Our first few lessons back we will be reminding ourselves of our QMA school values and how we can use these in our everyday lives - in our learning, our relationships and the way we support one another.

And, of course, we’ve been taking a little inspiration from Bella!

🐾 Be ambitious - always aim high.
🐾 Problem solve - don’t give up when things get tricky.
🐾 Persevere - keep going and keep trying.
🐾 Never give up - believe in yourself and what you can achieve!

So this year, let’s all Be Like Bella ….. have a can-do attitude, support each other and make the most of every opportunity!

Here’s to another fantastic year in the Music Department!

Our new S2 classes have been enjoying learning about this term. To round off their learning, pupils put their knowledge to the test with a fun game of Pictionary.
