Can’t believe we are into September already. Had a great Summer and a good honey harvest 🍯
This Sunday you will find us in 2 locations. Sue will be at Bearsted Market on the Green and Vince and Megan will be a the Sevenoaks Heavy Horse Show held in Shoreham Kent.

Been jarring honey today and Sue is making candles in the kitchen.
But sometimes trying to move around the house can be a little bit of a challenge

Fill the boiler with water to just below the outlet tap and add wax. The liquid melted wax floats on the water but can’t hold the crud which sinks. Draw off the clean wax into buckets, let the boiler cool and remove the disc of wax left and scrape all that crud off the bottom. When the bucket of wax has set, knock it out the bucket and hey presto second filter stage is complete.

After honey extraction, you need to deal with all the wax.
This is the second of three filter processes.
Love the patterns that form when the wax starts to cool.
We have plenty of bees wax for sale.
fully filtered and ready to use.

We also feel extremely angry when it’s wasps that have destroyed the bees 😡

That’s a wrap! Honey harvest 2026 done!
Out early to our last site before it gets too hot 🥵
Safe to say that our summer honey harvest hasn’t been as great as the spring one but that’s due to the extreme weather and everywhere looking like a desert 🐝🐝
