A colourful achievement for a wonderful cause! 💙

Pupils have proudly presented a cheque for £1,000 to ellenor following their fantastic Colour Run fundraiser.

During a special assembly, pupils learned more about the incredible support ellenor provides to children, adults and families across our community, as well as the exciting We're Going on a Bear Hunt trail taking place this summer. The celebration finished with a whole-school reading of the beloved story and a heartfelt prayer of thanks for everyone's kindness and generosity.

A huge well done to all the pupils, families and staff who made this amazing fundraising success possible - what a brilliant example of community spirit in action! 💙🌈

🎉 Official Opening of Our New Outdoor Learning Space! 🌿

On 10th June, pupils, staff, families, governors, trustees, and community partners came together to celebrate the official opening of our brand-new outdoor learning space.

The event marked the culmination of months of hard work, collaboration, and community spirit. Guests heard from Headteacher Sheila Ward, representatives from Aletheia Academies Trust, and Dave from the Heritage Centre, who shared the special story of having attended the school himself 73 years ago.

The celebration concluded with a blessing from Reverend Ross, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for outdoor learning at Ditton.

Headteacher Sheila Ward said:
"We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved. This project has truly brought our school community together, with pupils, families, and volunteers all playing a part in creating a wonderful outdoor learning space. It is already making a real difference to our pupils, and we look forward to seeing it continue to flourish."

A huge thank you to Aletheia Academies Trust for their investment and support in helping us create a lasting resource that will benefit generations of pupils to come.

Our OPAL Journey Begins! 🌿

We are excited to have started our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) journey.

OPAL is a nationally recognised programme that helps schools create richer, more inclusive and engaging playtimes for all children. We believe play is a vital part of learning, helping children develop confidence, resilience, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

As our journey progresses, pupils and families will begin to see new opportunities for outdoor play, exploration and adventure. We will be developing our play spaces step by step, listening to our children and working together as a school community.

Our aim is simple: to ensure every child enjoys happy, active, imaginative and inclusive playtimes every day.

We look forward to sharing our progress with you and welcoming our whole school community on this exciting journey! 🌟

🥉 Third place and on the podium! A huge well done to our football team for their fantastic efforts at last week's Trust Games event.

Across 14 exciting rounds, our pupils showed brilliant commitment, teamwork and determination throughout the day. Securing 3rd place is a fantastic achievement and we are incredibly proud of how the team represented Ditton.

We’re looking forward to the final round of Trust Games on Tuesday 14th July where double points are available - so there is still everything to play for!

Here’s another sneak peek of our amazing ellenor bear! 🐻✨

With the finishing touches complete, our bear has been varnished, carefully wrapped, and sent on its way to join this summer’s Bear Trail.

Now the big question is… where will our bear be waiting to be discovered? 👀

A brilliant evening at Knole Academy for night two of our Trust Choir Concert! 🎭

Ditton pupils wowed the audience with their energetic performance of 'I Just Can’t Wait to Be King’ from The Lion King - full of fun and confidence.

They also took part in the combined choir, performing 'A Million Dreams', 'Rewrite the Stars' and 'This Is Me' from The Greatest Showman.

The night ended with a special staff performance of ‘When I Grow Up’ from Matilda with our very own Miss Rolfe and Mrs Trower 🎶
