๐งโโ๏ธ๐ท๏ธ๐Can't believe a year on and how things have changed! Last week of term and I'm back in schools, venues etc. having some Halloween fun! I know it's early but wanted to get the children in the mood before we break up ๐ง๐ง
We made a potion, read a witchy story and played lots of games. The children left happy today with their end of term certificates, stickers and sweets.

๐ฎ๐น Ciao. Mi chiamo Ornella e sono Italiana.
FEEL THE FEAR BUT DO IT ANYWAY!
Something I live by and despite being a single parent, is what led me to leaving a steady job in a school to become a Kidslingo franchisee 3 years ago.
Yes, Iโm Italian from a beautiful island called Ischia and a question I often get asked is โWhy do you teach Spanish and not Italian?โ Simple answer, I was sold by the fun, unique Kidslingo methodology.
I was raised being spoken to solely in Neapolitan โ a language in its own right. One of my earliest memories of going to Italy was amusing my relatives by switching between languages by the age of 5; which is why when my parents enrolled me into the dreaded Italian school (to learn โproperโ Italian!) I mustโve been the only child who actually enjoyed it and wanted to learn.
๐ช๐ฆI was only introduced to Spanish the day I landed In Valencia (aged 21) looking for work as a newly qualified TEFL teacher. I didnโt even know how to say Hola and Google translate was not even a thing then!!!๐ฑ With my trusted phrase book and my basic knowledge of French, I managed to secure a job and a flat. Fast forward 2 incredible years (1 in Seville) I reluctantly returned to the UK and only then began to study this beautiful language.
After my experience of teaching English in Spain, Italy and the UK, I then became a therapist for autistic children. This is why I have a passion for helping children with SEN and always ensure my classes are as inclusive as possible. Both my children have also been diagnosed with ADHD so I have quite a lot of firsthand experience.
๐นMy other passion is music and I have been teaching piano on and off since I was 18. I also run a toddler music group called Tapping Tots ๐ถwhich takes me into nurseries and allows me to see things through the childrens eyes.๐ This then led onto my teaching Spanish. Not a natural progression but the fun Kidslingo approach encompasses everything I believe children need to learn effectively. It also combines the 2 things i love the most - children and music. ๐
Who wouldโve thought that studying Performing Arts at University, would one day lead me to Kidslingo? It has helped me to bring the language to life in a way that engages children and makes them want to learn. My Italian school days also taught me how not to do it. Maybe if it had been taught the Kidslingo way then a lot more 2nd generation Italians could actually speak Italian now!
Losing both my parents young and only 16 months apart has also highlighted to me how precious life is.
Remarkably, I have now been nominated for doing something I absolutely love - Most Loved Activity Leader in the South East for the Whatโs on 4 Kids awards which I am thrilled about. I'm pretty sure my parents would be proud too๐
So my message is โ if your heart tells you to do it then take the risk. I did and I havenโt looked back โ Gracias to Kidslingo! ๐ Kidslingo Spanish Aylesbury Vale
When youโve had a gap and the first lesson back is always a bit scary but then your teacher rocks up as Wonder Woman so you have a mad dash to become Thor and for a short space of time everything became super fun! ๐ฅฐ๐ฆธ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฆธ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Gracias Ornella for our first autumn term Spanish lesson! Lots of fun and games as always! Hereโs to next week ๐ฅฐ
Huge thank you to Ornella ๐ itโs taken weeks of hard work and determination but between us we have an engaged a tough little cookie of a 5 year old back into a learning environment with a teacher he adores. Ornellas patience has allowed him to (at his pace) learn more Spanish which he also loves. Thanks a milllion times over Ornella ๐ฅฐ
Hi, where do I see the prices please? My son is 10 and he loves his Spanish lessons at school and he really misses it with being home
